The blond haired, blue eyed beauty followed the couple from the shadows. It was of course raining, and she ignored it like she always does when she is out ‘hunting’. Her adoptive father taught her to ignore the weather while on the job, he said that if she worried about the weather then she would have lost her focus. And when a hunter loses their focus, they lose their life as well. Granted her father and her were no ordinary hunters, but the two of them could die as well. It might have taken more of an effort to eliminate them, but they could be taken out just the same.
She turned attention back on the job at hand, just in time to see the male lead his female companion into a dark alley. She of course followed them, needing to make sure the woman was indeed safe. As she rounded the corner, her hand slipped itself to her sword’s hilt and gripped it tightly in her grasp. Her eyes focused on the couple, and watching the man’s every single move. He seemed to be a handy man as he couldn’t keep his off of her. Her body tensed in reaction to what she knew was going to happen next, however she paused when he corralled her to a steel door with a cover slit in it.
The blond girl ducked into a nearby shadow, and peered out as the man’s eyes searched the alley behind them. The cover slid open, and the conversation was a brief one before the person on the other side opened the door and let them inside. As they stepped through the doorway, the blond girl emerged from the shadows just in time to see the doorman slam the door. She was now cutoff from her target, and knew she needed to get inside. Her hand released her sword and she began to over look the building, and smiled when she saw an opened window on the second floor. She took a running start, and like an acrobat, jumped into the air and sailed right in. She landed softly on the floor and stood up gathering her surroundings in. she heard loud music coming from downstairs, and followed it.
What the chest pumping notes lead her to, was the mother lode. Not only was her target among them, but there was dozens like him. She smirked to herself, and knew that her father would be so proud of her. However, unlike him, she prefers to get herself a bit dirty. She quickly withdrew her sword, and began to swing it around the place. Some ran away, while some charged at her. As her sword sliced through those around her, the bodies burned up and turned to ash. She continued to swing her sword, and turning the fanged creatures to ash. When it was all over, she stood there in the middle of the ashen remains with hardly a scratch on her. Sirens could be heard in the distance, and they were closing in upon her. She quickly vacated the building the same way she entered it, and began putting some distance between herself and the cops.

Steve wasn't usually in this part of the country, preferring to leave this area to the "New York" heroes, as he liked to call them, the ones like the Avengers and X-Men, but the Titans had been asked to help with the renovation of the Hall of Justice, and well, how could he refused the chance to see one of his father's old bases? He had heard so many stories of it, from Honor Lantern Gardner, and honestly, it was one of the few old Justice League bases he had not been to. His ring picked up the police radio band, which he was about to ignore, until he heard a familiar name, Skylar Brooks. He had heard of her from Zatanna's kids, that she was suppose to be a vampire hunter, one of the good guys, and though he had never had a run-in with any of those monsters, he heard more than one hero talk about fighting them, to convince him that they were real enough.
Not wanting to let a fellow hero be arrested, or worse, he commanded his ring to fly him to the location mentioned. In a matter of seconds, he was over the area, and saw a girl not much older than himself, running from the scene, carrying a sword, in the opposite direction of the oncoming cops, with the exception of one lone cruiser. "Lantern Jordan, we should leave this situation in the hands of the Terran Officers, as they appear to have this situation under control." Steve rolled his eyes, and shook his head, before aiming the ring at the fleeing girl. "Maybe, but if what I have heard about her is true, then that would be the last thing that anyone would need. Now, unless you want a hero to be captured, let's atleast find out what is going on, before deciding who's the villain, and whose the hero, OK?"
He hated to listen to the ring, as it always sounded like an adult, scolding him, when he didn't do anything wrong, just because his idea didn't go by it's rules. Like the world was only black and white, and emotions were suppose to forbidden, or something. The ring didn't respond, atleast not verbally, but instead allowed him to form and fire a beam of green energy, which quickly began to take the form of a bubble, and went to snatch up the girl, and pull her into the air, before the cop arrived and arrested her. "Hey there, um...need a lift?" He asked, his face turning red, and his voice soft, almost like a whisper, revealing his shy nature that almost always appeared when he was around a cute girl.

Sky had ran for a few blocks before she decided that she needed to get off the ground. She returned her sword to it’s sheath, and prepared to jump to the roof of the building in front of her. However, before she could complete the jump a green bubble surrounded her and began to lift her into the air. ”What the hell?!” She exclaimed in confusion as she traveled up into the sky. She did not need this complication as she needed to return to her father and his base. She knew that he was waiting for her report on this mission, and she didn’t need to be detained any longer than needed.
She soon came face to face with a golden skinned boy about her age. He was of course a bit interesting to her, but she couldn’t afford to let herself get distracted like this. She needed to return ‘home’, and she can’t do that hanging in the air with this boy. Her hand reached up to activate the communications device that her father insisted that she wear when going ‘out’. ”It seems that I will be delayed, Blade. I do not know for how long, but I will return as soon as I can.” She informed her father of her state, and looked at the boy before her.
”Hey there, um…need a lift?”
Sky looked at him and noticed that he was shy with her around. She smirked, not really knowing how to react to that information. Of course the boy’s scent gave it away, and she couldn’t help but chuckle to herself at the situation. ”No, not really. Listen, could you put me down on a roof?” She responded to him as she eyed the cops down below them. It wouldn’t be long for them to spot her and the boy up in the air like this. And she really didn’t need them shooting at her or the boy.

He thought she was cute, which was why he was blushing and so nervous, which didn't sit well with his ring, though seeing no logic in reminding him to stay focused, it stayed silent. Instead, it simply allowed him to to pull the hunter and the bubble upto him, until they were face to face. "Well....I guess I could..., but since I'm not sure exactly what is going on, I should probably call in The Titans. After all, I....um...would probably get in trouble if I allowed a girl with a sword on her back to run around the streets of Washington. After all, I mean, you know...., um, we're not exactly in New York." Real smooth, Romeo. Good thing Honor Lantern Gardner or Dad aren't here, to see me mess.... His train of thought was broken, as the ring interrupted him. "Lantern Jordan, proper procedure does not include flirting with detained suspects. Procedure dictates that either you take the suspect to Oa, charge her, or release her."
Again, Steve rolled his eyes and shook his head in response, wondering why it always had to lecture him, as he wondered if every GL ring was this aggravating, or if it was just his. "Yeah, yeah, tell me something I don't already know, ring. Well, either way, I have a feeling you don't want to talk to the cops, so...um, if I sit you down...promise not to run? Atleast until after I ask you some questions? Please?" Again he ridiculed himself for being so nervous, which he felt was making him look unprofessional to her, which was unbecoming of a Green Lantern, or atleast it was in his mind. Ever since he was a kid, watching his mother and other GLs in action, Steve had been in awe of the Corps and it's members, believing them to be the coolest heroes in the entire universe, not realizing or wanting to see that they had flaws like everyone else. To him, they could do no wrong, perfect under pressure.
He didn't know it, but his father was listening in and monitoring the entire event, and was actually smiling and proud of how his son was holding himself, not that he would tell this to Steve. Hal and Steve didn't have the same father-son relationship that Hal and his father had, mainly because his commitment as the head of the Corps meant he had to treat the entire Corps like his children, not able to show any favoritism, not even to his son. This caused friction between Hal and Arisia, who wanted her son to get to know his father, and caused Steve to feel like he wasn't wanted or really loved, especially since there were those in the Corps who had openly questioned his place there, and felt he was only there because of his legacy, since he was the only third Generation Lantern in their history, as well as their leader's son, causing some to call him 'Prince'. It was a nickname he hated, because he knew full well their disdain towards him. While thinking about his father, Steve momentarily lost his focused, causing his his construct to fade for a second, but his he quickly regained his focus before it disappeared completely, reforming and preventing the hunter from falling to the ground below. Unsure if she could survive such a fall, he decided it was probably in both their best interests to set her down, which he did, sitting her on a store roof, but keeping the bubble up, as he landed beside it. After all, he didn't want to have to explain to his parents or the Titans why he let a potential villain escape, if that was, what she was. "So....um...mind telling me what you were doing, running from the cops, with a sword in your hand?

Sky stayed there, hanging in the green bubble, looking intently at the boy before her wearing an outfit of a green section covering the torso and shoulders, black arms and leggings, green boots, white gloves, green domino mask and a chest symbol of a stylized Green Lantern icon on a white circle. She had heard of these people, policing the universe and listening to a special ring. Her eyes quickly darted to the said ring on his finger, and she smirked mysteriously. She of course was getting a bit fed up being held in this green bubble, and she portrayed such emotion by crossing her arms across her chest.
"Well....I guess I could..., but since I'm not sure exactly what is going on, I should probably call in The Titans. After all, I....um...would probably get in trouble if I allowed a girl with a sword on her back to run around the streets of Washington. After all, I mean, you know...., um, we're not exactly in New York. Yeah, yeah, tell me something I don't already know, ring. Well, either way, I have a feeling you don't want to talk to the cops, so...um, if I sit you down...promise not to run? Atleast until after I ask you some questions? Please?"
She eyed him again, this time with a bit of puzzlement. Titans? Who in the hell are the Titans? She didn’t know, but wondered if they were like the Avengers. Titans she had never heard of, but the Avengers she had. She quickly recovered her stoical expression that she had of course adapted from her father, and returned to look at the unusual boy before her. She didn’t need this right now, and the sooner she was released the better. She really needed to get back to her father, and being trapped in this blasted bubble was not helping her in the least. She nodded her head to say that she will not run if he set her down, and to answer any questions to the best she could. She noticed that the bubble around her started to fade, and found herself smirking as well as preparing for a hard landing. However it did not happen as it solidified around her again before he sat her down on a nearby store roof. She was of course totally annoyed that the blasted bubble was still up and around her.
"So....um...mind telling me what you were doing, running from the cops, with a sword in your hand?”
Sky only looked at him up and down and wondered what he thought he was doing. ”Exercise?” She answered him quite seriously, somehow knowing he wasn’t going to believe her. She was sniffing the air and smelled the cop give up his search and went on his way. She then reached out a hand to attempt break the bubble around her so that she can be on her way back to her father. Her emotions were causing her to lose her self control that kept the vampire side of her in check. She did not need to let the boy see that in her…
