Mackenzie had sat in the kitchen with a cup of yogurt in her left hand. She wore her favorite pair of skinny jeans, a plaid purple, black and gray shirt with her flip flops on her feet. She pushed the strand of blonde hair out of her face that had accidentally fallen out of place. Kenzie had looked at the pile of mail that Kaitlyn, her older cousin, must have brought in. she picked up a magazine about fitness that was addressed to her other older cousin Becky and started reading it as she scooped a spoonful of yogurt into her mouth.
Kenzie had placed the cup of yogurt, which was now empty, in the sink and she washed it out to be recycled. If it wasn’t washed out, Billy would have a cow. Kenzie had then walked out of the kitchen and up the stairs of the wonderful Victorian home to get to her bedroom. Inside the bedroom, Kenzie had picked up her bag which had her sketch book and pencils, as well as other things inside. She had made up her mind about going to the park today to draw.
Kenzie exited the home and she walked down the street, and about a half hour later, she was now in the city of Gotham. Kenzie continued to walk for several more minutes until she reached central park. Kenzie looked around the brightly lit up park for a place to sit, somewhere where she could be alone, somewhere where there was a perfect view of nature.
The brunette’s eyes scanned and found the perfect spot, underneath a shaded tree. A smile appeared on her face as she walked over there and sat down. She took her flip flops off and sat with her legs crossed. She opened her sketchbook and held it on her lap. She started sketching the landscape, and felt like this was what she was meant to do, she felt happy drawing anything really.
Mackenzie looked up from her sketchbook and watched people walk by her. It was a wonderful morning, and she loved mornings like this one. Ones that she can just sit and relax, not have to worry about anything but the next time that she would get to see her father. Nothing could get her mind off of that. She missed him greatly, she always had ever since she was little. Sure, he would try to visit her every other week or so, but being part of the Justice League and doing what he does as the Spectre, it was just difficult. She wondered if that would ever change, if Archangel Michael would make her father, Detective Jim Corrigan fully human again.
Kenzie wished that would happen. That way she could possibly have more of a family life than just her cousins, not that she didn’t like that. She loved living with them, they were like her older sisters and brother. They would fight like siblings too with the constant yelling and teasing, well the teasing is for fun, the four were just that. Siblings.
Mackenzie turned her attention back to her sketch. She smiled as she partially had the pond done with the shading. She had always been able to draw, and she wouldn’t trade that for the world. She loved the way people would look at her art and she always liked it critiqued. That way, she knew what she needed to improve on and what she was good at. Next, the pencil moved to draw a rock that was next to the pond. Kenzie had leaned against the trunk of the tree she sat under and just became lost in her own little world, that of craziness.
