Powers: She has Telepathy on the same level as her father’s, giving her the power to read people’s thoughts, enter their minds and search their memories, and if she has to, take control of them and make them do what she wants.
She has flight through wings, making her capable of flying high into the atmosphere as well as flying for several hours as need be.
Due to her Shi’ar physiology, she has enhanced strength and can lift nearly two tons of weight easily.
Ablities: She has used her Telepathy to learn as many languages as she possibly can, able to speak every Earth language as well as several alien languages.
She is skilled in several forms of hand to hand combat as well as use with several weapons of both Earth and Shi’ar design. She prefers a set of dual swords that she keeps hidden beneath her arm feathers.

Her hands and toes are tipped with long, talon-like claws that she uses in battle. In every day life, she wears simple blunted claw coverings that are all linked to an easily removed wrist brace so she can take them off swiftly in case of a fight.

Weaknesses:
- Astra’s body is built to be very lightweight, resulting in hollow bones throughout her body that are easily broken, even by short falls or hits that- while they hurt beyond imagining- wouldn’t break normal human bones. When broken, her bones usually shatter rather than snap.
- If she’s caught off guard, she can be overloaded with thoughts, even from a single person. She’s always hearing people’s thoughts, even with her mental shields up, but without her shields, she hears everything going through a person’s mind, conscious and subconscious alike.
- If she remains too long in a psychotic mind, she begins to think like that person. There have been times in the past when she’s become too dangerous and had to be imprisoned by the Xmen.
- Ice upon her wings. If enough water ever freezes on her wings, she is left flightless and vulnerable.

PERSONALITY: Astra is a kind and gentle soul. She does what she can to help those she comes across and always tries to keep from killing. She always does what she can to help mutants with physical differences in coping. If at all possible, she tries to make peace between everyone she possibly can. She’s gentle with everyone she meets and always tries to take the peaceful way in life.

HISTORY: Astra was born to Lilandra after a visit to Earth during which she spent time with her then husband, Xavier. Astra was born much like her aunt, a Throwback to the bird kind that the Shi’ar evolved from, though she was unlike any Throwback ever seen by the Shi’ar people. Her feathers, wings, and overall physiology were all perfectly developed for sustained flight, far faster and longer than Deathbird. Scientists theorized that she was so perfectly developed due to the X-Gene passed down from her father, that she wasn’t simply a Throwback, but a Mutant like Charles.
Growing up, Astra faced the same ridicule and distrust that Cal’syee faced as a child. Now faced with her own child in this situation, Lilandra began to develop laws and regulations to give throwbacks better treatment and equal rights with the normal Shi’ar people. Even with this help, Astra suffered ridicule behind her mother’s back, even at the hands of some of the guards meant to protect her.
When she was 9 years old, her Telepathic powers surfaced in an accident. She was on the grounds in the area where the children of the palace servants played and interacted with each other. Astra flew down to the children and tried to start playing with one of them. The father of the child, one of the few who would constantly berate Astra when he could, ran to his child and pushed Astra back, knocking her back a couple feet and over a low stone wall, where she fell and broke her arm on the sidewalk. She began to cry, calling for help. In the next moment, she was surrounded by everyone in the yard, even the guard who had pushed her, all trying to help her. She found herself overwhelmed by thoughts and images crowding her mind, making her head feel as though it would explode.
She passed out and woke several days later in bed, her arm in a cast and her mother by her side. As she came to her senses, she realized she was wearing a device on her head, one designed to inhibit Telepathic powers. She swore to her mother that she would always follow her father’s example and use her Telepathy only for good. She wore the device for more than two years as she trained herself to use her powers, to tolerate the constant flow of thoughts from people who knew nothing of shielding their minds. Years later, she began training as a warrior.
At 16, Astra approached her mother and requested permission to travel to Earth and stay there. She wanted to learn of her human heritage and get to know her father. Lilandra, understanding this desire, granted Astra’s request and transported her to Earth, where Astra joined the student body and began to learn about Earth. She grew up with the team and her Father, who helped her through her mother’s death at the hands of Darkhawk, and once she had graduated, she joined the team, so she might help the people of Earth whenever they needed it.
After joining the team, she approached her father, offering to help the students learn not only to use their flight powers, but how to how to fight during flight as well. Charles accepted her offer, making her a teacher’s assistant as a start, but over the years, she soon assumed the full teaching roll, which she still holds to this day.

POST RP EXAMPLE:Astra flew high over the school, looking down at the students and smiling as she did. She was glad to be a teacher, she enjoyed the smiles of the children and their eagerness to learn. Since it was Saturday, she had decided to find some students to have some fun with. She angled her wings and landed at the baseball field, noticing a group of students starting a game. She approached with a smile, offering to join one of the teams in the game. The students teased her, claiming she’d use her Telepathy to cheat. She grinned and nudged one of her students.
“Will it help if I promise not to cheat?”
The students laughed and they all ran out onto the field, Astra joining her team in the field as others sat out in the dugout. She stood in the field, rubbing her hands together eagerly. She enjoyed baseball. It was truly an enjoyable and challenging game, especially when played at Xavier’s where students were often allowed to play using their powers. She looked up as the ball was hit and flying in her direction. She ran back a little, tracking it as best she could in movement. She grinned and leaped into the air, beating the air with her wings to get the height she needed. She reached up, trying to catch the ball, but only managed to knock it out of the air in the direction of one of her teammates before she began to fall again. She spread her wings and angled them down for a quick, but safe landing, and looked up, watching as the batter made it to base. She smiled a little and took her position again, knowing she’d get it next time.
