Cat was walking the sidewalks of the City of Love. Her parents had decided to take a vacation to largest city in France as well as Europe. She had decided to take a walking tour of the place, and visit the sights and museums. What she didn’t know was that her parents had decided to take a second honeymoon, and just couldn’t leave their kids with anyone that could possibly figure out that they are a bunch of superheroes. Which was why they took their kids along with them to the most romantic city of the world.
So far she had seen the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Louvre. She had started after lunch, and still had quite a bit left on her list to see. The Eiffel Tower, the Catacombes, Luxembourg Gardens, and of course the House of Chocolate just to name a few. She had a large list, and it was already starting to get dark. But she also knew that she was in the City of Lights, and it wouldn’t be dark for her. She grinned as she realized that she could continue with her site seeing for the day. She eyed her list, then her map, then her surroundings and grinned widely. She realized that she was near the entrance to the Catacombes, and decided to do that one next.
So Cat changed course and headed underground. She of course was alone, and grinned when it seemed she could wonder around on her own. What she didn’t know was that she wouldn’t be alone, and that would be a very bad mistake on her part.

Landon knew exactly where the girl had been all day. Whether it be by a security camera, a hired troop, or a mercenary who talked to much, the young girl was in his mental sight all day. For someone so samll, she certainly had no problem traveling a foreign country all by herself, but when you can nearly kill even olympic athletes in one blow, you didn't worry too much about those types of things. Too bad for her. She had seemed quite cultured, traveling to all of these places, without being forced to by an adult, pretty rare for young people. As rare as that was, nothing was more rare than kryptonian blood, and that was what Landon wanted.
After it was reported that she was moving toward the catacombs, he knew it was time to begin. Despite Landon's usual attitude toward these things, he refused the order to have a troop move on. It was possible that even with Kryptonite augmented weapons, this girl would be a problem. The disguised van he stood in through Paris stopped near the catacombs entrance. He prepared himself quickly and exited the back of the van, following behind underground. A small girl with so much power was really something, for some it might cause fear or unease, but for Landon it caused inspiration. So much technological potential, and all he needed was a single subject. He decided that this subject would be captured by himself, despite the girl being able to incapacitate him with her pinky, he wasn't afraid, he was prepared. He smoothed out his black suit and kept his hands behind his back, he caught up with the young girl, staying a few meters behind so she wouldn't yet be affected. "Quite a special young girl you are, Catherine. One of the most special I've seen." He kept his hands out of sight. He gave a friendly smile, lying with his expressions. "You have a lot of potential, I'd like to harness it for my own." He looked at her, waiting for her reaction.

Cat was wondering into the passage ways of bones and dead bodies. She of course was paying only partial attention of where she went. If she wanted to know her exact location in the city, she’ll just use her x-ray vision on the ground above her head. She was of course enjoying herself as she was learning about the history of the city, and being in the Catacombes held a lot of history for her to learn. She of course had her back turned toward the way she came, but she felt someone approach behind her. Not worrying that this person might mean her harm, as she felt as safe as she would be with her father near her.
”Quite a special young girl you are, Catherine. One of the most special I’ve seen. You have a lot of potential, I’d like to harness it for my own.”
The way the guy talked to her, made her worry that she could be in very big trouble. She turned around to see a man looking at her with a friendly smile, and she slowly backed away from him. ’How does this man know my name?’ She thought to herself as she tried to think of a way out of there. The only human way out was on the other side of the guy, and she quickly used her x-ray vision on him as she saw his hands were behind his back. What she saw made her widen her eyes, as she knew what that was. The one and only true physical weakness she had. He has somehow made a weapon that could use Kryptonite, and she of course was truly frightened. ”Who are you? How do you know me? What do you want with me?” She then hoped that one of her siblings would be able to hear her, if not her dad as she turned her head and called out for help from one of them if not all of them.

Honestly, Landon was a bit surprised at Catherine's reaction. The kryptonian youngster, daughter of the man of steel, Super kid. She quivered at the sight of him, a fairly thin man. Perhaps she somehow knew he had a weapon of sorts. Maybe she heard him prepare it from afar when he entered, or she was seeing right through him. With all of the powerful abilities kryptonians had, hearing, x-ray vision, all those abilities seemed to slip his mind. It didn't matter, no matter what she couldn't tell the nature of the weapon or how it worked, he was still in the clear, and so he still kept his hands hidden.
Walking slowly towards the child, he began to speak in the powerful tone of his. "I know many things and many people, young one. There is not one square inch of this planet in which I do not have connections. I know about you, your sisters, your brother, even your father. And although I know about all of them, I picked you out special. You caught my eye the most Catherine, which is why you're so special. As for who I might be, you can call me Rector, and I want to harness the power you have within young one." He walked closer to Catherine now, he was sure she became more uneasy with each step he took. He was going to give her a chance to avoid her pain, if not then he would have to cause her harm, as indifferent as that made him. "You can come with me Catherine, or I can take you. Those are your options." Landon preapred his weapons, in case her answer was a violent one.

Cat knew the only way to escape was to go further into the Catacombs, and wondered if her siblings or father had heard her cry for help. She then began to curse not having telepathy as a Kryptonian power, but then she’ll just have to work with what she was given. She swallowed again and backed up some more when he advanced on her, and she would turn and run at her fastest speed when she could. She turned her head again and called out for her super powered family so that only they would hear her, 'Help me! This guy has kryptonite!'
"I know many things and many people, young one. There is not one square inch of this planet in which I do not have connections. I know about you, your sisters, your brother, even your father. And although I know about all of them, I picked you out special. You caught my eye the most Catherine, which is why you're so special. As for who I might be, you can call me Rector, and I want to harness the power you have within young one. You can come with me Catherine, or I can take you. Those are your options."
She continued to back away from him, and hoped she could escape him. She suddenly knew she should have made one of her older siblings tag along with her, and what he told make her think this over carefully. Either way has unknown variables, and she could end up in trouble. However, turning tail and running had a better chance of escaping than going with that man. ”I’m sorry, but I don’t go with people I don’t know. So I’m going to have to do this.” She told him and then turned around. She then disappeared from his view using her superhuman speed to go further into the catacombs.

The whole 'stranger danger' routine was going to be quite a bother for Landon. Of course he wasn't expecting the girl to just walk into his clutches, but he was hoping this was going to be a quick and quiet little meeting, unfortunately he was wrong. The experience of heroism hadn't sunk in much yet, otherwise she'd have known that the bad guy always had an insurance plan. The perimeter was surrounded of course, in case she tried to pull this type of stunt. His men were equipped with powerful concussive rifles. No they did not have kryptonite, it isn't as easy to find as he wished, but there were enough of them to cause her harm with their weapons even without kryptonite.
As she warned him that she would run, he quickly brought his hands from behind his back. On those hands were green metallic gauntlets. They looked similar to Tony Stark's, but unlike his these served a specific purpose. They were fueled by kryptonite and meant to battle against Kryptonians, more famously Superman and his offspring. The weapon wouldn't fair well against anyone else, but against them it was lethal. As soon as she ran off, Landon fired a green blast. The blast wouldn't kill her, it was only enough to knock the girl on her ass, allowing him to grab her, but after firing the shoot he couldn't see her, he she was already out of sight, the kid was quick. Whether it hit or not, he had to go after her.
"Standby, the target may be coming your way. Open fire upon sight." "Yes, sir." He walked forward cautiously, staying ready in case the girl popped up. "You can't hide from me for long, Catherine. Come calmly and I'll refrain from harming you." His voice echoed across, whether she could hear him or not, he spoke. He searched around thoroughly for the young girl.

Cat didn’t slow down until she herself was lost in the bowels of the burial passages, and she had no clue from where she came from or which way was out. There was no way she was going to go with that man, not after what she had found out from him and of course what he had in his possession. Just being near kryptonite caused her to become very weak, and not even her toys back home didn’t have that effect on her. So of course if she were to be close to the shards of matter from her father’s home planet after its destruction, she wouldn’t be able to hold her favorite teddy bear.
”Standby, the target maybe coming your way. Open fire upon sight.” … “Yes, sir.” … “You can’t hide from me for long Catherine. Come calmly and I’ll refrain from harming you.”
She of course had heard everything said very clearly, all thanks to her Kryptonian superhuman hearing. She paused in the dark, dank opening of the catacombs she had just entered and took a look around quickly. She found a near total darkness corner, and made a rash decision. Since it looked like none of her family was going to show up and there was no other way out, she rushed to the corner and hid. She hoped that the man who seemed determined to take her wouldn’t find her…

She was really going to annoy Landon now. He would be damned if he went and searched every dark corner of the catacombs, especially when the girl could go and zoom into another corner without him noticing. He walked warily, keeping his hands up to fire at the girl in case she popped up. Of course he knew what he had to do now, he had to talk her out. Catherine was just a child, Landon would easily be able to trick her into coming out, he just had to use the right words.
"You really are making this too difficult, Catherine. I mean my hopes were to just take you with me, fulfill your purpose, and perhaps return you. I chose you for a reason, because I thought you were special, I thought you were better."
The girl was smarter than to just come out for nonsense, something that was obviously a lie, but he had to pull logic from the equation and come to terms she could understand, while forcing her to have to come out. He knew what would get her.
"I really only needed one of you, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to take..oh...say, all of your other siblings. Oh yes, now that I think of it, the more the merrier. Why truly settle for one, when you can take them all. Perhaps if this one is going to be so difficult, I might as well go the whole nine yards, right?"
He walked around still, waiting for any sign of her. He knew that threatening her family would lure her out, no little girl would want to even think of their family being harmed. All he had to do was wait for her to show herself.

Cat stayed in her corner, hiding and hoping the man would just leave her alone. She then began to wonder how he knew all about her and her family. Especially their true identities as well as the fact that they were not completely human…save for her mother. She then wondered if her dear loving mother was starting to worry about her baby girl after not coming back for so long. She glanced at her watch, having no trouble seeing it in the total darkness to find out that she had been gone for quite a while. And that it was a least an hour past the time she had told her parents that she was going to return. She then wondered if they were going to search for her or not. She hoped that they would come looking for her…
"You really are making this too difficult, Catherine. I mean my hopes were to just take you with me, fulfill your purpose, and perhaps return you. Perhaps if this one is going to be so difficult, I might as well go the whole nine yards, right?"
She had heard every single word. However, her mind was processing the situation at hand. There was a reason why this guy was gunning for her, and of course she wondered why that was. It could be that she was the smallest and most naive of her family, and he thought that she would be an easy target to take. However he had to know that her family would do anything to keep her safe, but that didn’t seem to deter him. She bit her bottom lip, and wondered if he was just bluffing about taking her siblings…

Landon walked still through the catacombs, now staying quiet. He has tried scaring her out of her hiding place, that has failed. He then attempted to threaten her by capturing her family, which he would've, but she still didn't show herself. Now he had to resort to finding her himself. He made sure that nothing was heard, not even his footsteps. Although she was powerful, she was still a child, a child that knew she was in danger. Most children, if not all of them, were horrible under pressure, especially with their lives on the line. Even worse for her was hearing about her family in danger, this girl definitely should be riled up.
He kept it silent now, listening. He might not have been some sort of expert assassin like Deadpool, but he knew how to listen out for someone. She was sure to be breathing somewhat heavily, and when he figured out where she was, she'd be sorry. He went along silently, keeping his ears wide open. He finally felt like he heard something, he wasn't completely sure, but he was so frustrated he was willing to take the risk. He crept up on the corner Catherine had stuck herself in, unsure to Landon's knowledge whether or not she was actually there. Before she could react, Landon fired a blast at her from his gauntlet, a strong enough blast to knock her out. He waited to see the result, ready to fire again if necessary.

Cat knew she should have left the corner she was hunkered down in, and tried to make her way back to the surface. However that would create a risk for her to be seen by the man, and she wasn’t quite sure if she was willing to risk that. Her hearing was turned to what she likes to call her high setting, and she tied to listen to any sounds the man might make. She knew from her ‘training’ that no matter how someone tries to stay quiet and silent, they always make a noise of some kind. She of course was listening for rattling of rocks, or the crunch of bones beneath his feet to alert her to his location. She of course heard his soft footfalls as he approached the chamber she had hidden herself in, and she got ready to bolt the moment he was clear of the entrance.
She figured that with him behind her, and not between her and the exit, she’ll have a chance at escaping. However she was a bit distracted as she thought, and thus didn’t notice that he had gotten behind her. She heard the charging of the gantlet, and turned just in time to see him aim in her general direction before firing. A green blast whizzed by her head, but she was knocked over onto her back from surprise more than anything else. She of course felt extreme weak, and tried to push herself up to her feet. Her end result was to fall back to the ground from not having the strength to accomplish the task. She was going to feel this effect for a long while…

Landon looked down at the girl, hopelessly lying on the ground. She had put him through quite a bit of trouble to get her, but now he succeeded. A grin stretched upon his face, it looked a bit more sinister than he anticipated it to be. He couldn't help it, he was happy to see his efforts weren't for nothing, he chuckled a bit as he walked toward Catherine. "Despite my, obviously ecstatic mood, I am saddened that I had to take such measures to get to you. However, you left me no choice." He reached to grab something that was tucked between his pants and his back, holding it behind him with his left hand. He knelt down close to Catherine, holding her face with his free hand, knowing the kryptonite would further weaken her. "I wish you could've seen it my way Catherine, but being the stunnorn little girl that you are, I had to take more extreme measures. But now, I have you for my own, and we'll have lots of fun."
Landon deactivated his gauntlets, cutting off the radiation from his gauntlets. He knew that with this much exposure, she would soon pass out. He placed the kryptonite cuffs he was holding on her wrists. Unlike his gauntlets, the cuffs only held enough kryptonite to prevent her from using her powers, as well as fatiguing her a bit, unlike the high amount he had in the gauntlets which might've called her had he not cut them off as soon as he did. He spoke into his cuff again, "I have obtained the target, prepare for departure."
"Yes, sir."
He lifted Catherine up in his arms and began to walk out of the catacombs, his first task was a success, he couldn't have gotten off to a better start.
