There was a sound of footsteps echoing on the metal through the hallway as JJ walked towards the med lab. It was about 8 at night and he’d just woken up from a nap. His weakness towards sunlight usually resulted in him sleeping most of the day, unless he has a class of course. He walked up to the door to the med lab and it slid open. As he entered he looked around at the mirrors and glass cabinets, giving no reflection. Luckily he had some people to help him make sure his hair looked good and everything else worked for him.
He walked over to a special cabinet with his name on it and opened it. On one side were a series of tubes for his serum and on the other were a few bags of blood. He grabbed a bag of blood and began to drink as he walked around the lab getting it ready. There would probably be night exercises tonight and no doubt he’d have a couple students in here. As he sucked on his blood juice box the door opened his didn’t turn around just kept getting everything ready.
“Hi there, what seems to be wrong? Just have a seat and I’ll be right with you.”
He said before finishing his bag and throwing it away. He wiped his mouth as best he could before turning around with a smile, his fangs still out and a look of bliss in his eyes.

Gabriel walked into the med lab with a student draped over his shoulder slightly as he looked around for the good doctor. Gabriel was exercising with several of the student going over several more advance programs in the danger room when one of the team were hurt pretty bad by shrapnel from an exploding car. Gabriel volunteered to bring the kid down to the lab so that the others could continue on with there training.
Gabriel could have healed the boy with a little magic but tried to avoid using his magic when he could as he could not always rely on it on the field. As Gabriel looked around he had at first did not see anyone in the lab but upon a second glance he spotted the doctor on shift who turned around and flashed him and the younger kid a fangy smile. The appearance and look scared the kid in his arm so much that he feinted causing Gabe to have to carry the kid in his arms.
"Hello Doc I have your first victim of the night!" Gabe said as he flashed the man a bright smile as he stretched his wings out slightly before folding them in close so as to not destroy the lab.

He raised an eyebrow as he noticed the kid faint. He then brought his hand up to his mouth and realized his fangs were still out. They quickly popped back in and he smiled a bit.
"I hate being right sometimes. I told them that program was far too advanced for some of the students."
He said shaking his head. Then again JJ himself rarely trained. And his programs were just enough to keep his skills up should he need them. It wasn't a secret by any means that JJ was a pacifist and hated fighting. But then again he'd spent more time with his father than mother so that would explain that. He often wondered how he'd have turned out if it had been the other way around. No doubt then his worst fear would've come true and he'd be a blood thirsty killer like a lot of vampires.
"Alright lay him down."
This was pretty standard healing. Definitely not a problem. JJ had been healing injuries like this since he was little. He began removing the shrapnel before placing his hands on the boy's chest. His hands began to glow brightly as the wounds closed themselves. Any shrapnel he missed was pushed to the surface and landed on the metal table.
"And done. You guys really need to be more careful with the students."

Gabriel laughed slightly as the doc retracted his teeth as he walked over to one of the free tables and layed the boy down carefully. Very few things bothered Gabe and he had seen some odd tings in his short life and so he was not frieghten by the mans fangs unlike the kid in his arms. He could not say that he knew the doc well as he avoided the social part of being at Xaviers as he was always stared at for his wings and new students swore he was a real angel and came to him with there prayers which was almost to much to deal with and so he bunked up on the highest floor with a large window that he could fly in and out of when he wanted to, it was his fathers old room.
Gabe was lost in thought when the doctor started to do what he did best and removed the stray metal from the kids body however Gabe seemed to return to the now as he could not ignore the healing energy glowing from the mans hand. Healing powers were not common but valued as they came in handy in a long fight and explained why the man was in fact a doctor. After the kid was all healed up Gabe left the kid to rest as the doc critized there training regimin which was not his idea but that of one of the teachers or leaders of the cell of students. He was skilled in combat and did not struggle as much as he use to when he was younger but that was because he was being trained by not only his father but several professors on his free time.
"Hey it was not my choice and the kid did sign up for it but I understand what you mean. The name is Gabriel Worthington." Gabe said with a smile as he offered his hand to shake toward the man.

He realized he shouldn't blame Gabe for the poor training exercise. Not to mention it was a voluntary exercise. He did though wish the X-Men would be more careful with the students. If the senior members wanted to do it so be it. But he'd seen younger students, some only a year come in here with injuries. Needless to say they kept JJ busy.
"I know who you are."
JJ said laughing a bit.
"Not too many people around here with wings like those. I mean sure a couple with bug wings and I think there's a young girl with black wings, and then Astra who's more bird than person but nothing like those. I've often wondered, do you have to do anything special to keep the wings looking the way they do?"
He asked with a raised eyebrow. He'd often wondered about wings and other appendages like those. No doubt there had to be some sort of special soap made for them.
"Name's JJ Foley, or Doc V or just Doc. I answer to a lot. But call me Dr. Acula and I'll drain you."
He said laughing a bit.
"So you don't have your father's healing blood?"
He's heard stories about Warren's healing blood and the adverse side-effect it had on Nightcrawler. They'd even kept vials of his blood on hand for awhile. Until JJ's father came around that is.

Gabriel frowned slightly as he felt subconsious of his wings and knew that for the color and size of them that he would always be known for them just like his father was and being named after an angel did not help either. He opened his wings wide as he looked at them with mixed feelings. The doc knew of not only him but of his father and of his familys powers though he wondered if the man knew of his sinister mother Selene.
"No my wings seem to be unable to grow dirty like most and since I shower often then they stay in good condition as normal I guess. My father showed me how to wash them and with the large shower room it is not to hard to stretch out when I need to so that is a positive." Gabriel said as he made his way to a nearby stool and sat down as he ran a hand through his wild shaggy hair. "I do not have my fathers healing gifts though with my unique genetic background I have almost everything else he ha and like the grey family I am telepath that far exceed my mothers powers. Oh and who could forget this..." Gabe paused as his wings stretched out and an orb of light formed in his hand that burned brightly before fading ."...I can command magic as well." Gabriel said as he looked sadly at his hands. He knew that he had the potential to be as evil as his mother and that scared him greatly.

"Ok, cool. I've just always wondered about that. I mean I only saw your father a couple times when I was growing up and I remember his wings being perfectly white every time. It was impressive. But then again I was young so it could've been some of my imagination too."
He said with a shrug. He walked over to the sink and washed the warm, delicious blood from his hands. As he dried them he turned around and looked at Gabe, nodding his head as he listed off powers.
"Hmm, interesting. Although the magic is cool."
He said with a smile. He'd always been interested in magic. Of course he also knew that as a magical being and someone under a curse it was feasible for him to learn magic.
"I was unaware we were discussing powers. But alright. I've inherited my father's biokinesis. Although I'm nowhere near his level yet. I mean he's regrown hearts and saved lives. I just take broken bones, cuts and the basics. But I've also inherited my mother's vampiric abilities just diluted slightly. As well as a few interesting side effects. Such as the stereotypical weaknesses of a vampire."
He said with a shrug. As he turned he knocked over a thing of tongue depressors. He held a hand up to Gabe and his eyes quickly scanned them.
"27."
He said before picking them all up and throwing them away.

Gabe smiled as the man volunteered his own powers up which made Gabe relax a little as he realized that he was not the only one with a unique background that was not the ideal poster family. Then the man knocked over a container of tongue surpressor and before he picked them up he had counted them almost instantly. Gabe frowned as he had heard of this flaw in the vampire legends and wondered more curiously about the kind doctor. Gabe would have helppick the things up but by the time he stood they were already picked up and thrown away.
"How do you do it? I mean deal with all of your vampiric side such as hunger for blood and the whole counting thing? I thought it was extremely hard for vamps to resist the urge to feed and here you are working around blood all day." Gabe meant no harm by his questions. He only was trying to better understand the man as it was probably one of the rare times that he was able to have a decent conversation with someone in a while. The man and himself did make an odd pair as Gabe resembled an angel and the doc resembled a vampire it was almost comical that they had no desire to kill each other which was a good thing, though odd considering. Gabe looked over at the kid who seemed now to be asleep as he was more than likely exhausted from his work out.

He turned around and grabbed a new thing of tongue depressors and placed them in the container he'd just knocked over. It was an awkward side effect, one that had been used against him in training a few times as well. He'd almost have someone beat and then they'd throw a handful of something on the ground and he'd have to stop and count them. He'd been quite embarrassed and he figured that was probably part of the reason he wasn't a full X-Man. Well that and the fact he could only do night missions. Although that was just fine with him. He liked the med lab and when he wasn't here he was thinking about the place.
"it's tricky..."
He said before jumping up on a counter and sitting down.
"But I don't constantly crave blood. I always feed before my shifts to make sure it doesn't happen. And well it's not like I have to always feed. I usually use a serum but every now and then I let myself have some blood. As for the counting thing, well it's never really come up. I mean except for the time I healed one girl and buckshot poured out of her. That one made me stop in my tracks."
He said laughing a bit. He remembered the others in the lab laughing a bit as he stopped before going on to the next person. A weird side effect sure but manageable none the less.
"The real problem I have is the whole sunlight and no reflection thing. I mean I shower constantly just to be sure and I use my powers to make sure I don't grow any unwanted facial hair but still."
He glanced over at the boy and nodded his head.
"He'll be fine. I could've fixed his energy a bit but I figured I should let him sleep it off. Being injured while training can be a lot."

Gabe wrinkled his face slightly as the man spoke about showering constantly and keeping his facial hair trimmed and maintain and was struggling slightly as he was unsure how his weakness to sunligt and his inability to cast a reflection. Though Gabriel did not let his mind wonder much about the good doctor and soon was wondering if the doctor was... well alive though he was afraid to ask as he was unsure how he would react if the man was not in fact alive as he would be the first undead person he met ever. Gabe smiled slightly as he looked at the kid and was glad that the doc allowed him to rest as the kid was still young and had a long time before he would see any field time.
" How long have you been Xaviers? I have been here since I was six and have seen so many come and go I just can not remeber you I hope that does not offend you much I mean no offense" Gabriel said as he scratched the back of his head. In a boyish way as he smiled huge again as he was a smiler. Gabe was enjoying the simple conversation for once in his long tenure at the mansion. Gabriel brisled his feathers as he was enjoying the freedom to stretch them out as it was not often he could stretch them out as it was in his nature to be airborn and he felt oddly caged in the confines of the walls of the school. He wondered if the doctor could fly for he had found no other experience more intoxicating as the wind in his face and under his wings.

He noticed Gabriel's expression and raised an eyebrow. Odds are he was wondering the one thing everyone seemed to wonder when they found out about him. That was part of the reason he acted the way he did. WHich was spending most of his time sleeping or in the med lab. But at the same time JJ loved talking to people and having conversations.
"And in case you're wondering yes I am alive."
He held a finger up in case Gabriel was going to try and object.
"I get that question all the time. As soon as people find out I'm a vampire and the blood, counting and no reflection thing the question comes up. And no I don't sleep in a coffin. if anything tight spaces kind of bother me."
He said with a smile before going back to doing what he was doing when Gabe came in. WHich was setting the lab up for the day. It was mostly done but he liked keeping busy. Plus it kept his mind off blood.
"I've been here almost since I was born. Most people don't recognize the name or even the power sometimes. My dad was Elixir, the guy who made your dad's blood obsolete."
He said with a shrug.
"Although I did leave for a few years to join the Titans as Kid V. But then I found out my dad was retiring to go with my mom to hunt down my grandfather Dracula. And Xavier's needed a doctor so I joined. I took the name Doc V and gave the Kid V name to my little brother who's currently with the Titans. And before you say anything relax. It's hard to offend me and I'm used to answering questions about me. After all there aren't many vampires, if any, that are like me."
He said with a shrug. People always asked him a series of questions. Bordering on the standard to the just bizarre. Such as if he hates werewolves or if he sparkles. That was the one time he actually grew really angry. People comparing him to Twilight.

For not being a mind reader like himself the Doc was pretty good at reading his thought process as he answered the questions that he was pondering with relative ease. Gabe was predictable and sometimes it was a good thing but often times it was not so good as it proved to be a dangerous weakness of his with enemies that were smart than the average street thug. all in all however he was learning a great deal from the doctor which was a good thing since the Doc would no doubt be patching him up in the future as Gabe was an official member of the Xmen and it was a profession that would earn him a lot of interesting bumps and bruises along the way.
"So are you a full fledge vampire or some sort of hybrid and if you are a hybrid then do you have any perks of being one as it seem that you have all the normal weakness for a vampire?" Gabe asked as he was reassured that he would not anger the man with his line of questioning. Gabe was always rather curious about such things and with his background it was sometimes better to learn more about the people around him.
He was surprised when the man said he was once a member of the titans which was something new to him as he had only heard of the Titans on the news or in the papers and never really thought of joining them. Gabe never thought of life outside of Xavier's but knew as he was growing older it would soon be time for him to step out on his own.

He laughed a bit and shook his head at Gabe's question.
"I suppose you'd say that I am technically a hybrid as only my mother is a vampire. But I actually gained weaknesses and lost some abilities. Unlike my mother I can't control any animals or do anything else odd. I mean sure I can't die so there is that but still."
He said with a shrug. It didn't really bother him as he never really thought about it in any way. It was just who he was and what he had to deal with.
"So what's it like to fly?"
He asked with a smile.
"You didn't think these questions would be one sided did you?"
He asked laughing a bit before leaning against a counter as he awaited a response. He had a feeling the whole him not being able to die thing would raise some more questions, as it usually did but was used to that. People always seemed to question this which made him think he should stop talking about it.

Gabe listened with a look on his face that could only be described as a kid that just found out that his favorite dream came true. The Vampire was wildly fascinating and not rude or cocky like most people that Gabe showed any interest in as he seemed very passionate and overwhelming to many aas he had a knack for asking a thousand questions and apologizing after each one. Gabe was shocked to hear that the man could not die and in fact had gained some weaknesses for being a hybrid which went against the fandom lore of such a coupling. That was when the man asked him about what it felt like to fly which made Gabe spin in a complete circle on his stool with excitement.
"It is like being weightless and free more free than anything could ever be at any given time as you have more room to breath. The sky reaches out to you and embraces you like a long child and the winds guide to where ever you want to go. There is no lines, no sirens, no people...only you the clouds and the occasional bird."Gabe said with energy as his eye glazed over in a dream like state and his wings snapped open on there own as if begging to taking flight. gabe realized shortlywhat he was doing and shook his head as he calmed down and pulled his wings in again. He blushed slightly as he laughed nervously before looking at the man again. "Or something like that!" He added as he felt silly for acting so young and foolish.

"Well at least I don't have to be concerned with your lack of ability to describe anything."
He said laughing a bit as he sat back on the counter. He looked over at Gabriel as he opened his wings. JJ's natural doctoral instinct caused him to examine the wings and the way they moved and opened. It was impressive they did actually work exactly like a bird's wing. He expected them to be different but oddly enough they weren't.
"So judging by all that you're saying flying is only ok?"
He asked laughing a bit as he continued to look at the man's wings. They were definitely impressive to say the least.
"Yeah, sadly I didn't get the gliding ability some vampires have. But at the same time it makes them crazy light so they can easily get thrown around and hurt in a fight. So it's a give and take I suppose."
He said with a shrug. Although there was one thing he was curious about. He just needed to figure out the ideal way to actually bring it up. But then he also knew sometimes bluntness was the best.
"So I hear you're not an actual X-Man you just visit from time to time. So what's up with that?"
