Transformation: The process by which Banner usually transforms into the Hulk is presumably the result of the chemical catalyst, adrenalin (a.k.a. epinephrine). As in normal human beings, Banner's adrenal medulla secretes large amounts of adrenalin in time of fear, rage, or stress, which hormonally stimulates the heart rate, increases blood-sugar levels, and inhibits sensations of fatigue. Whereas the secretion heightens normal physical abilities in normal human beings, in Banner's case it triggers the complex chemical-extra-physical process that transforms him into the Hulk. The total time of transformation falls anywhere between seconds to 5 minutes, depending on the initial adrenalin surge, which will be determined by the original stimulus. Soon after the transformation, the amount of adrenalin in the Hulk will return to more normal, reduced levels. However, there were instances in which Banner became the Hulk without any discernible increase in heart rate or adrenal levels, suggesting that the true trigger mechanism into the Hulk is far more psychological than physical. When the Hulk transforms back into Banner, the excess muscle mass and energy is lost, presumably to the same place he derives it.

PERSONALITY:

Luke is a slightly broken individual, knowing that his own grandfather killed his own mother to get at his father is something that he will never forgive his grandfather for, after all it was what interrupted Luke’s life and left him in the sole care of his father Bruce Banner. Luke has always been someone that does not like authority and authority figures, however he has a lot of respect for his own father. Luke unlike his father does not feel sorry for humanity which shuns him because of his powers, he will not openly attack humanity but he is not sorry for his rampages that he commits at the hulk because of the fact that his transformations are triggered by anger, therefore he would not change for the fact that he was provoked by people. Luke is also very protective of his father and will do anything to keep him safe, even as going as far as to allow himself to be believed to be his father and hunted across the country for his father to be safe as he is now too old to run alone.

HISTORY:

Luke Richard Banner is the first born of Bruce Banner and Betty Banner’s children. From the moment that Betty had told her father that she was pregnant Bruce knew that it would be trouble, he knew that Betty’s father didn't like him because of his transformations into the hulk and knew that he would hate the chance of his daughter having a child with him even more. However Thaddeus didn't do anything at first, he was happy for his daughter and Bruce to be with child, however what Bruce didn't know was that the older man was planning, and planning big time to destroy the Banner family. However when Luke was born it seemed that Thaddeus was seemingly happy for his daughter and Bruce. When Luke was 2 however the plan came into fruition. Thaddeus had waited for Bruce to go out to work and then confront his daughter in the hopes of getting her to hand his grandson over to him so that he could run ‘tests’ on him. However when Betty refused Thaddeus in a fit of rage had shot his daughter and attempted to kidnap his grandson. However Jennifer Walters, Luke’s aunt and godmother had been upstairs and had heard the gunshot, she had ran down the stairs which caused Thaddeus to flee without Luke and leaving his only child in a pool of her own blood.

Bruce had wanted to go after his father in law but Jennifer had refused to allow him to do so, reminding him that he had his son to look after now and that Luke could not lose both of his parents because of the stupid actions of his grandfather, even if she did believe that Thaddeus had to pay for what he had done. From a young age it was clear that Luke was smarter than most children his own age, there was things that he understood at 4 that some 8 year olds did not know, however Bruce home schooled him believing that no one would be able to teach him things better than himself, also he wanted to keep Luke away from the ‘normal’ school children just in case there was a chance that Luke had his curse of the hulk also. When Luke was 16 he found out that he indeed did have his father’s hulk gene. Their next door neighbour who Luke had always been friends with was arguing on the front lawn with her boyfriend. Luke had gone out to try and help her, when he saw the boyfriend hit her he had transformed into the hulk and chased the guy down the street, it was only that he saw that she was ok Luke took control of his emotions and turned back into his human form.

After Luke turned 20 he moved out of his family home and moved to Texas with his aunt Jennifer, as well as keeping in touch with all of his friends that he had made in his life, he tried his best to keep out of the way because of his abilities but it turned out that his grandfather was still after him. Luke then gave up trying to keep Hulk under control and was more prone to violent outbursts in which he attacked the military which his grandfather sent after him and his aunt. Luke has also been attacking the government when they have gone after other people with special abilities, as he doesn’t want what has happened to his family to happen to another family just to make his grandfather happy.
