Kim had been at Aunt Jen's place for a while, and Luke had be rather busy lately. They had only seen each other in the evening when they had settled down for the night in their shared bedroom, and when she wakes up in the morning he is gone. So she stays in the house doing what she can to help, and with Jen out most of the time she was left alone all day. So she had cleaned that house from top to bottom countless times before she couldn't take it much longer, and she swiped the keys to the extra motorcycle she had found a few days after her arrival with Luke. She had also taught herself how to ride in her long lonesome days alone, and she thought that she was fairly good. She grabbed a helmet off the shelf and walked out toward the garage, and then got on the bike before taking off toward town. She had no idea what she was going to do when she got there, but she just needed to get out of the house. She had no idea where Luke disappears to during the day, but she had decided that it was her turn to disappear for a few hours. She'll just have to remember to keep a low profile and not gather the attention of Ross while she was out. It had been weeks since her and Luke had said more than a few words to each other everyday, and she began to wonder if he was regretting ever meeting her. She wiped away the few tears that fell down her cheeks as she raced along the roadway toward town, realizing that this separation and pondering was hurting her the most. It was just as bad as when he left her for five years... Kim pulled up in front of a promising looking bar and got off the bike. She pocketed the keys and tucked the helmet under her arm before strolling inside, her intent to get drunk as a skunk. Just so she could forget this lonely pain of being alone all day. She had done the same thing after he first left her years ago, and it did a good job for helping her forget for a while. She strolled up to the bar and took a seat on an empty stool, plopping the helmet on the bar next to her. She noticed the bartender eye her from down the bar and walked over to her taking her order. ”Give me the strongest scotch you have, a glass, and leave the bottle.” She demanded in a tone that said don't question her and she wasn't in the mood for talking. She then laid down three twenties, and watched as the bartender went about filling her order. She couldn't help but wondering if she should just leave him, and give herself up to Ross. Tell the old man that his grandson didn't care for her any more. Not like he used to, or so she thinks... Perhaps that way she was out of Luke's hair, and he could do what he really wants to do. When her order was placed in front of her, she quickly opened the bottle and poured herself a glass before quickly draining it. She then immediately re-poured herself another one... She wondered how long it would take the other patrons to take their drunken lust out upon her... |
