PERSONALITY: Toby on his own is a very serious and somber person. It is not very often he laughs or smiles and takes everything in with deep consideration, often putting a negative twist on it. He isn't very open with himself and doesn't respond well to others, most responses being cold sarcasm. The Phantom finds Toby's personality boring and often casts a cloud of influence on him, often making him arrogant and more eccentric, but allowing him to retain his mentality of things.

Unknown to Toby

HISTORY: 

Born to the middle class couple Liam and Anna, Tobias had two loving parents that would raise him to be a great man, unfortunately it didn't exactly happen like that, ate age 5, Tony's parents were gunned by a thief that was robbing their apartment. He watched from his bedroom as the robber shot his parents and quickly rushed out, not knowing he was there. The next day the police showed up, taking him to an orphanage.

In there, Toby was explained what it was that happened to his parents and what would happen to the man if he was found. He didn't have any sense of vengeance in his heart being so young, so he could only believe in the justice system itself. He walked around a weak boy, seeing kids get picked on all the time. He knew he wouldn't be able to do anything if he tried, so he only stood by and believed in the universe's justice system. But he could only sit by for so long.

It was only recently that Toby found a girl being harassed by two men in an alley, both with guns. As the girl struggled, she kicked one of them, causing him to drop his, he was too angry to pick it back up. Toby decided he couldn't stand by while something horrible like this happened. He picked up the gun and shot at the thugs, missing them both and also dropping the gun in shock. Angry at Toby, the thug shot him in the heart, causing him to collapse and die within a few moments. Caught in between the boundaries, Toby's spirit, close to his body, was met by a black smoky figure, who forced him back inside of his body. 

When he woke up, he was in his room in the orphanage. He looked in the mirror to see the image of The Phantom instead of his own. The Phantom tells him that he now has a second chance at life, this time he now has the power to carry out the justice he holds dear, but Toby knows it must come with a price. Either way he knows now he can do good now and begins to take anonymous requests as a detective, using the Phantom's powers to be what he wanted to be, a hero.
