BOARD RULES
These rules are for everyone's enjoyment of the site! We want to make sure that everyone gets a good and fair chance at RPGing on this site. We all want to have a good time and to do that we need to follow the rules and make sure that everything is alright for any new members as well. Yes yes...I understand. No one likes them. However, they are necessary for the smooth running of a board. No secret phrases. The honor system is much nicer, right? Don't make me regret this...pretty please?

GENERAL RULES
2. The RP is not based on any Marvel and DC Universe. Which means, that you can pull the information from any universe be it comic or movie. If you need to do research, that's fine. None of us our real superheroes or villains here, and if you are - I'm sorry some of us might bother you with slow and sometimes labored responses, but we are all working hard to make this as reliable as possible. Not only do we like to base the histories on the two universes, we will also allow histories based on the latest movies.
3. Be civil! There’s no need for anyone to be rude and obnoxious. If it’s in your character’s nature to be rude, that’s fine, however, OOC I would like people to be civil to one another. Remember, just because your characters don’t get along doesn’t mean that you don’t have to!
4. Language: There will be a very low tolerance for swearing on this board. We will allow a little leeway with certain words, however, if I notice any extremely rude or offensive language is used, it will result in admin interference.
5. Chat speak: Don’t use chat speak on the board. An RP involves using proper English and spelling. There’s some ability to use abbreviations in OOC boards and such, but it’s easier for everyone to understand and looks much better for the board, if people try to use proper spelling and some grammar.
6. Narrative: This RP is in third person. You are also required to post in paragraph form. By posting in paragraph form, I mean separating thoughts. Don’t try to indent, just skip lines in between paragraphs.
7. Posting Limits: All posts must be a minimum of two paragraphs, which is about 200 words. That means at least two sets of four complete sentences. It's not fair for the people who put a lot of effort into their posts to get a two word reply. Be considerate and remember, your characters are always thinking and always moving! Describe, describe, describe!
8. Posting Frequency: We all know that real life can get busy, so to keep the site semi active we will require every player to make posts during a certain time frame. For the original characters, we will require you to post at least once a week. For canon, we require at least twice a week. If you know you will be gone for longer than that, please post in the away board.
9. Staff Powers: For Staff members, do not abuse your powers. We trust you when we give you this position, so make sure you'll keep it that way.
10. Listen to Staff members. Do as all Staff members say, if they say Not to do something then don't or you'll get 2 warnings, over 2 will mean you get a ban for 48 hours and if you get another 2 warnings. You'll be banned. Permanently!
11. Passwords: Make sure you have good passwords, especially the staff members.
12. Characters: You may have as many characters as you wish. However, please keep them all active. And for each character you have, please create a different account for each of them. You MUST use your character’s name for the display name of the account. It will be so much easier for those involved in a thread to know who they are posting with.
13. Application(s): Once you have joined and know what character you want, then you will have THREE DAYS to put up an application. It does not have to be complete, but at least it lets us staff members know that you are interested in RPing. Not to just hogging usernames and such.
Also, if you do put up a WIP, work in process, application, you will have ONE WEEK to complete it. That is seven days from the date of post on the app, not seven days from the last time you logged in to work on it.
Failure to follow this rule will result in your account being deleted, and you app(s) being denied. The only way around this rule is that if you PM a staff member asking for an extension, as we do understand that real life can become demanding at times and there are incidents that are not under our control.
Please do not omit any part of the structured app. If your character does not have any powers, then please put N/A or none. DO NOT REMOVE THE SECTION! There is a reason it is included.
When there are applications awaiting for approval, please do not post your opinion (as a regular member of this site) on them. It creates confusion for the potential member on who they should listen to. Any breaking of this rule will result in automatic account deletion. This is your one and final warning.
14. Canon Character Adoptions: Please do not copy previous canon applications word for word. This is considered stealing the original author's work, and any new application for the canon will automatically be denied. The staff here at TNAoH want to see what you can do with them, so rewrite the app in YOUR OWN WORDS.
15. Character Index: Please be sure to add yourself to the character index AFTER your character has been accepted. Also please update your listing after each character created. When I do the activity check, I update the master list from the index. If you or your characters are not in the index, then they will NOT be on the master list of the activity check.
16. The New Age of Heroes Wiki: This RP also has an accompanying wiki. Please be sure to head on over there to add your character to the wiki, after getting accepted. It isn't mandatory to do so, but it would be nice to have a collective database.
17. No Hoarding of Families: In order to keep an even spread of children on this site, I will limit the number of kids each canon can have. This means that if the parent does not have longevity, then they can have no more than three children. The only exception to this is if a non-longevity character married someone with longevity. IE: Lois Lane. For example, Iron Man and Batman can have no more than three kids at once. On the upside, for those characters that do have an extended lifespan, then they can have no more than five children. For example, Wolverine and Superman can have no more than five kids at once.
18. Children/Siblings: If you are creating a child or a sibling for a canon that already has a child/children or sibling, then please be sure to carefully read over the application(s)…CAREFULLY. But if the canon is taken be sure to contact their player to see if it is okay. It is only polite to do so. If you wish to change up the already established history of the canon(s), then please PM ALL the siblings and canon to ask if it is alright to do so. Be sure to include what you want to change, and how you would change it in the PM. We will contact these individuals to see if you have done so.
18. Character Acceptance: Since Abby is a self proclaimed admin of not being good with apps, thus this duty falls solely upon Ry and Tasky. Abby is more of a coding admin than anything else. The only time she will look and accept apps is if Ry and Tasky are the player of the app or if they are unavailable to do so. Also do not bug us to look at your app once it is done. We have lives outside of this game. If you haven't heard any feedback from us in a few days, feel free to poke one of us in the CBox or via a PM. BUT PLEASE DO NOT BUG OR NAG US TO LOOK AT YOUR APP! Doing so will only get you a fast track to the denied pile, and you do not wish for that to happen.
17. Claims: When posting your claims, please BE SURE TO POST IN CODE! I am getting tired of going in and editing claiming posts when it clearly says what to do in the claim list. If you DO NOT follow this simple rule, you WILL NOT be added to the claim list until you correct it. If this continues to happen, then I will have to take more drastic measures.[/ul]
IC RULES
2. Mary-Sues/Gary-Stu’s: Mary Sue/Gary-Stu’s is an utterly perfect character. He/She stands in for the author and performs every heroic feat known to fandom, often outdoing the main characters of the story. He/She is beautiful/handsome, fit, wise, and incredibly intuitive. He/She is either the best friend, lover, or unrequited love of the most handsome/beautiful and desirable male/female character. He/She often has psychic or supernatural powers (not so much here since we are dealing with some unknown races of beings), which he/she uses in the most predictable and boring ways. He/She is introduced without preamble, has not a single weakness or flaw, and can kick the butt of the most powerful person in the story.
This is not acceptable on my boards. Mary-Sues/Gary-Stu’s aren’t realistic and can’t be realistically thrown into the plot. Make a character that is developed in every way and has flaws as well as strengths. No one wants to RP a cliché! Have fun and create your own UNIQUE characters. Seeing this definition should steer people away from creating this type of character.
3. Romance: Romance is fine! There is no reason people can’t be in love! However, there are times at which one should draw the line. Don’t drag out love scenes. If people are going to kiss/make-out please keep it to a minimal. We don’t want to read about people eating each other’s faces.
Same goes for “romantic” scenes. KISS (Keep It Simple Sam/Samantha) it.
4. Violence: People can fight, but I don’t want to see huge descriptions of bloody fights and such on the board. Grace over the really bad parts of the violence and just post the after effects if that’s better for you. Just consider other people when you post fight scenes and such.
5. Tagged Threads: If a thread is tagged with names, don't join if your name isn't in it. If you really want to join then ask the one who started the thread to join via a PM.
6. Mature Threads: There will not be any on my boards. If I find any, you will be banned and stripped of any rank you may hold. This is to insure that we are compliant with Proboards Terms of Service. This is your one and final warning on this subject!
7. Character Pregnancy: This actually ties in with the mature threads and romance rules. We will allow pregnancy for female characters. It does happen. However, in order to keep female characters from running around pregnant, you MUST PM a member of staff. We will decide if your character is going to have a child or not, as we must see how many others on the board are also pregnant first. If we tell you no at first, please be patient and await for the number of expecting parents to dwindle before requesting again.[/ul]
Graphics Rules
2. Signatures: All signatures will be no bigger than 500 pixels wide by 200 or 300 pixels tall.
3. Other Graphics: All other graphics will be no wider than 500 pixels.[/ul]
C-BOX RULES
2. No Adult Content. You can poke, kick, hug, whatever. But nobody wants to see anyone going any further then that. Little kids can see what goes on in the C-Box. DON’T GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN TO MOMMY AND DADDY ABOUT!
3. Be Nice, No Fighting. Playing around fighting is fine. Like poking, kicking, don't do anything too severe though, and make sure you both are playing around. No actual fights. No yelling, swearing, being bitches to each other. Also, NO PICKING FIGHTS WITH PEOPLE.
4. No Advertising! Means, No advertising. No posting links to other sites on the box, talking about your site so much that people can figure out the url to it, or talking about sending someone a PM to a url of a site. All is NOT allowed. There is a board strictly for this.
5. Have Fun! There’s no need for anyone to be rude and obnoxious. I would like people to be civil to one another.
6. Guest Friendly. You do not have register or join anything to chat in the C-Box. It is 100% guest friendly!
7. Language: There will be a very low tolerance for swearing on this C-Box. We will allow a little leeway with certain words; however, if I notice any extremely rude or offensive language is used, it will result in admin interference. The C-Box is used for talking.[/ul]
