Astra walked silently around the school grounds, smiling to the students she met as she walked. Many of them she recognized, some were new to her. She stopped as a younger student approached her and knelt, smiling softly to the little one, who had reached out to feel Astra's feathers. She reached over to her wing with her hand and gently tugged at the feathers. She kept a close eye on the molting feathers and knew one of the longer primaries in her wing was due to fall out. She tugged it out painlessly and handed it to the child. The feather on its own was nearly two feet in length. The child's eyes lit up happily as he took the feather, then ran off to show it to his friends. She chuckled and stood, continuing her walk.
After a short walk, she approached an old weeping willow that had been on the grounds since before Xavier had even thought about taking the building over as his school. The branches drooped low, touching the ground and creating a small hollow where one could have some privacy if they wanted. She gently parted the branches and walked inside. This was one of her favorite places to meditate on her days off from teaching.
Many students knew she preferred this spot, and all knew she didn't mind some company, even if it meant interrupting her meditation. She sat silently in a low dip in the ground created by the roots, closing her eyes and resting her hands on her knees. Taking a deep breath, she settled herself into her meditative state, receding into herself to calm her mind and ease her Telepathic powers. As she did, her mind sent out a calming aura, one of the ways she 'told' her students she was in the tree's branches. If they wanted to talk to her, there wouldn't be any resistance, all were welcome to come to her.

Molly had been walking the grounds talking on her phone the whole time. She did her best to say hello to all of the individuals who passed her way. The topic of discussion was one that she didn’t really want to have. No teacher in their right mind would enjoy calling up a parent to let them know their kid was failing several courses.
It was hard these days to try and keep the students interest. Most of them either played hooky the full day or were in the class room wishing they could be somewhere else. Molly did not mind the occasion day dreamer, but she knew how important a good education was. As the topic of school continued Molly was being passed back and forth between two angry parents. The stress was getting to her at first until she managed to walk into range of Astra’s powers. And even thou she was still being yelled at, Molly managed to take it in stride and come to an understanding with the students parents.
Hanging up the phone and putting it her pocket, Molly walked over the the base of the tree. Despite the fact that Molly felt uneasy around telepaths she did her best to maintain her composure. The scars left by her parents had done some healing but there was still work to be done.
“Hello Astra.” Molly said as she looked through the branches. Molly walked over to the area where she was sitting and sat down next to her. This was always a good place to look for Astra when she needed to be found on official business, but it was nice to run into her while the two were not working. Given they were always teachers, today was a down-time day in which Molly really didn’t have much planed. Except doing phone work that was dropped off on her.

Astra smiled a little in her meditation as she sensed her aura's calming effect on Molly. She was glad for that, she didn't want things to get out of hand with a student's parents. That could prove to be rather un-enjoyable. As Molly approached and gave a greeting, Astra bowed her head slightly in return, slowly rising from her meditation so she wasn't overwhelmed by the thoughts of those nearby. As Molly sat beside her, she opened her eyes and looked over.
"Hello, Molly. Did you manage to reach a compromise?"
She bristled her feathers a little and gently slipped the covers off one hand, resting the covers and holder in her lap. She started running her fingers through her feathers, picking out the older feathers so new ones could grow in. She looked over at Molly, smiling to her fellow teacher. She knew Molly was wary of Telepaths and Astra hoped to help her get past that someday.

Looking over at Astra, Molly was comforted in how much she cared about the students here. It could be said about most teachers at the institute but for some reason Molly just thought highly of Astra. Some of it might had to do with the feeling that she was getting from her but not all was caused by her friend.
“The issue seems to be resolved,” Molly said with a smile. “Progress reports came out not all the students are doing as well as they could. I am grateful that I can even find a parent who still cares in enough in their child's life to get so livid over the matter.” Molly stated looking up in the tree.
Some days the weekend wouldn’t come soon enough, others when they got here Molly didn’t really know what to do with herself. Catching up on reading was always a good thought, but it seemed to get interrupted a lot. “So any thing special going on this weekend?”

Astra smiled as Molly responded and nodded, understanding why Molly was pleased. She sighed a little and relaxed, gathering the old feathers in a small bundle. She always kept the feathers, giving them to the students for art class. She nodded a little at Molly's comment about parents, smiling softly.
"Yes. Far too many of these children are abandoned."
She lift her head, staring around at some of the students in the yard. Many of the students were brought in by the parents. They were given their progress reports, their report cards, and all the other notices the school sent out, but Astra knew better than most of the other staff members that many of the students were ignored or forgotten by their families. Since she'd lost her mother, and she rarely saw her father, Astra knew how bad it was to not have your parents around. She looked over as Molly asked about the weekend and she shrugged a little, lowering her head.
"Not really. A few of the students are going home. I don't have any plans myself. I might go flying. Visit the lake in the forest. I don't really have much else to do."
She set the feathers aside and picked up her claw cover again, slipping it onto her wrist. She tried to keep the loneliness out of her voice, she didn't want Molly worrying. She didn't really socialize with the staff at the school. She never felt that she could truly be friends with anyone, especially at the school. Not with her Telepathy. She knew that anyone who really knew just how much she heard would never trust her. She didn't want to upset anybody, but were she to be completely honest, she would admit just how lonely she was.
