Faith awoke with a start, claws extended and beads of seat dripping down her brow. It was another one of her nightmares that told her just how bad her life had been. They seem to be getting more intense and frequent as of late. She sat up and swung her feet over the side of her bed, and placed her face in her hands. She looked over to her room mates to see if she had woke them. She listened to their deep breaths, and lowered heartbeats. She sighed heavily, but not loud enough to wake anyone up. She put on some footwear, even though she would be able to go without. Last time she did that, she had the other student’s look at her like she was crazy.
She had been at the Institute for a few days, and wondered how long it would be before her owners found her and this place. She shook her head of the thought, and decided not to dwell on it at that moment. Instead she made her way to the kitchen, just like she did every night after waking up from one of her nightmares. She soon found out that she wasn’t the only one who couldn't sleep at night, but she doubt that they shared her dreams. She was perhaps the only one who could kill just as fast as she would think it, and the target wouldn’t know what hit them. She was government trained, and everyone knows they had the best training available.
She entered the kitchen on autopilot, and automatically went to the refrigerator. She opened it and peered inside looking for something to settle her nerves. The milk and juice just didn’t seem too appeasing to her, so she shut it back. She then went over to the cabinet where she knew that the soda was kept, and grabbed a bottle. She then got a glass down and filled it with ice before pouring her drink over it. Before she knew it, she was setting on the other side of the bar from the entrance to the room nursing her drink. So far she was the only one up and around the place, but she knew that could change any moment.

Jason yawned as he closed the front door to the Institute behind him. The other X-men knew he was coming today after Storm dropped the you're a big brother bomb on him last week. Took longer than he thought to get to New York from Kansas than he thought. 'Kansas sucks why the hell would Dorothy want to go back He snarled mentally. The state was boring nothing but fields and farmers there. Sure he got work there but besides working on the farm he was asleep in the fields.
Shaking his head agitated he walked toward the kitchen hoping to get some food and maybe something to drink before he wandered to his room. He had roommates and a room here at the school but he was never here. 'Like Father like Son' Beast would say. As he made his way to the kitchen he remembered his first day here at Xavier's. The look of shock on his father's face to discover he had a son made him wonder how he handled a daughter.
Jason stopped outside the door, the light in the kitchen was on and he heard movement inside. Who would be up at this hour He thought to himself. He had an excuse to be up and then again when did he ever have to explain himself. Walking in he saw a girl around his age, long brown hair, brown eyes. Something familiar about the way she looked to him. "Should you be asleep or something? I know most girls won't shut up about needed beauty sleep" He commented sarcastically as he leaned against the door frame.

Faith heard footsteps approach the room, and she involuntarily sniffed the air. She thought she smelled her father’s scent, but she knew that wasn’t possible. He was currently out and would be gone for a while. That could mean only one thing. Whoever was approaching her was a sibling or another family member that she has yet to meet on her father’s side. When he entered the room, she looked up and watched him intensely. She wondered if this guy who was about a year older than her was a brother of hers.
”Should you be asleep or something? I know most girls won’t shut up about needed beauty sleep”
She started to wonder if he was actually her brother or not. She remembered when she first arrived that her father wanted to tear her to shreds, and that was only because she smelled of the government. She then knew he must have smelled his scent on her, as he was clearly confused. He however had put his claws away and decided to handle things rationally where she was concerned. She was brought back to her wondering about the boy and if he was really related. If he was, then he would have known that she wasn’t like the other girls.
Faith looked him up and down as if she was trying to decide something. Which she was of course trying to decide on how much like Logan he was. ”I was asleep. Most girls don’t wake up from memories that haunt them every moment either.” She answered him gruffly and took another drink of her soda. She then eyed the refrigerator again and wonder if she should try a beer that is kept around for her father.

"Che" Jason responded, she could definately be related to him, they both always have something to say back. Going to the refrigerator he noticed a few drinks like milk and juices in the very back was beer. If his father came home and noticed one of them gone he'd immediately blame Jason because it was usually him. He decided to drown his troubles on another day and went for the root beer in the cabinet once he abondoned the refridgerator.
He released his claws to get the twistable cap off of it then retracted them just as quickly then sat at the table across from the girl. "So what are you in here for?" He asked propping his feet on the table then leaning back into the chair till it was on it's hind legs. He remember how annoyed his father was when he saw Jason acting like he owned the place.

Faith knew that her father would know that she had indeed touched his beer. She sighed and knew that she would have to get her own so that he wouldn’t be furious with her for drinking. The alcohol may not affect her like it would someone else, but it would surely make her feel better than what she normally would. She then watched as the guy opened a root beer with a set of claws like hers. She wondered how he would react to her if she extended her own set of claws that were so much like her father’s. She shrugged her shoulders to herself as she moped about her problems.
”So what are you in here for?”
She raised an eyebrow as he propped his feet up on the counter-top, and leaned back in his chair. She didn’t know this boy enough to tell him what she thought of his acting like he owned the place. She was fairly new here herself, and she ground her teeth to keep her trap shut on that subject. ”I’m here to hide from the people who created me, and will do anything to get me back.” She told him and could feel her anger rise and in return she felt her fist close at the thought of the people that created her getting her back. She could feel her heart rate increase and knew her scent was changing because of it. However, before she could stop herself her claws extended.

Jason raised an eyebrow at her response then when her scent and heart beat changed to distress and anger. Then the claws came out woah this day was getting better and better wasn't it. "So you're my new baby sister huh? Well calm down you're not the only one being hunted pretty much everyone here at this school is. And being hunted by the government? Story of my life so suck it up cause worrying about it isn't gonna make them have pity on you and decide to leave you alone" Jason commented harshly.
Jason knew what he said was a tad heartless and mean but he felt she needed to hear this. She was his sister after all and the last thing he wanted to be seen as was the guy with the weak sister. He doubted it would help his fathers image either. With that in mind he took another drink of his root beer drowning his regrets of what he said. He felt as her long lost brother that she deserved the truth from him no matter how harsh he wasn't gonna give her some special treatment and sugar coat it. He would only hurt her chances of survival.

Faith knew what the cause of her anger was, and knew that it couldn’t be good for her to be inside when she finally reaches her feral state. She could feel herself getting dangerously close to losing her humanity and going feral. She needed to release it, and in order to do so she’ll have to hunt and kill to satisfy it. She quickly downed her drink, and got to her feet. She wondered if there was anything in the woods that would quickly satisfy that rising need in her.
"So you're my new baby sister huh? Well calm down you're not the only one being hunted pretty much everyone here at this school is. And being hunted by the government? Story of my life so suck it up cause worrying about it isn't gonna make them have pity on you and decide to leave you alone"
She was facing the door when he spoke, and she turned to glare at him. ”So you’re my older brother, Logan told me about before he left huh? Oh I doubt anyone else here was created to be a more successful Weapon X. I’m not worrying about anything but them dragging me back to continue to do what they have been doing to and with me.” She answered him in a clipped tone. It was tone she normally used when she wasn’t tracking down a target and killing it. That was when she used a more menacing one…

Jason sighed, she had a temper but then again so did he and his father. Maybe that was a gene that ran through the family like the mutant genes. But as far as he knew everyone on his father side had the gene. "Relax princess no need to cause trouble and wake the whole mansion up" He growled. He was too tired to deal with the other X-men right now. I mean come on he just got here and it wouldn't look good if he was seen killing him baby sister.
"How long have you been out of the lab?" Jason asked taking a good drink of his root beer. He remembered his days in his little test tube perfectly. That nightmare that his mind refused to let him forget it just sat there in the back of his mind coming out when he slept like a monster underneath a child's bed. When the morning came and he found himself to have survived and not fighting for his life it was gone just like that.

Faith only growled at him when he called her a princess. She was no princess, and she knew it. She felt her fists close in an effort to push back her temper that threaten to spill out of her. She did not need nor want to wake up the whole school while she went around causing destruction and chaos. She needed to work it out, and the only way for her to do so was to work it out if she couldn’t kill something. Since no one had given her permission to access the Danger Room, she will have to just settle on the gym. She turned back around to head in that direction, but she didn’t even get one step closer to the door.
”How long have you been out of the lab?”
She closed her eyes as she attempted to fight back the bitter memories of her time locked up in that inferno hole that she was kept in. Her tormentor’s face floated in front of her mind’s eye and she gave a sound that was a cross between a growl and a snarl. She was no longer under his control, and that was the only thing that kept her from adding to the décor right then and there. ”Not long enough.” She answered him without turning around, some how knowing that if she did she was most likely going to do something she would regret much later.

She wasn't looking at him was th first thing Jason noticed he didn't have to turn around to see it for himself. But she wasn't leaving either so he took it as a good sign too, maybe they could get along their pasts were quite similar. "I've been out of the lab for seven years now. And I still have nightmares about them taking me back or waking up thinking I killed someone again" Jason said. He remembered his first days out of the lab, he felt alone, different from everyone else. He felt like a monster someone who didn't deserve to live for killing so many people even though they hurt him first.

Faith could feel her feet wanting to walk out that room, but something told her that she should get to know her new found older brother. She closed her eyes to push back the animal and temper connected with the animal back down to the pit where it lived. She knew it would eventually blow up in her face, but that is the only way she knew how to deal with her anger and the feral animal inside of her. She wondered if Logan or her brother, felt the same way.
”I’ve been out of the lab for seven years now. And I still have nightmares about them taking me back or waking up thinking I killed someone again.”
She listened to him, and slowly closed her eyes. Okay, so perhaps he knew what her life had been like… She turned around slowly, and when she finally stopped she opened her eyes. She didn’t know they were filled with pain, misery, and sadness. When she finally did realize they were, she closed them again and opened them one more time. This time they were cold, hard, and empty. ”Every waking moment, I’m haunted by those that they ordered me to take down with my claws…” She finally told him to let him know that she indeed has killed innocent people.

So she killed people. Jason noticed from what she said but then again so did he so he couldn't judge her. His was self defense they tried to kill him and they took his mother from him. They deserved to die but they were someone elses family too, someone's mother, father, sibling, or spouse and he took them away. They didn't deserve that.
Jason sighed getting up. "Sit down" he sort of ordered before going back into the fridge and pulled out too of Logan's beers. He tossed one to her which she caught. "Drink up it helps sometimes...If Logan asks I drank them when I came home okay?" Jason said opening up his. He knew Logan would get mad if two of his beers were gone but Jason could handle it, his dad tended to rip on him the most being his first born son.

Faith walked in a controlled way back to her seat, and wondered what he was going to do as he sort of ordered her to take a seat. She was even wondering why she following it, after making herself a promise of not following any more orders. She chalked it up to being a family thing, and that he was older than her by a year. Perhaps it was the animal in her that was recognizing him as the one in charge or something. Still it bothered her that she did as he sort of ordered her to do.
"Drink up it helps sometimes...If Logan asks I drank them when I came home okay?"
She only reached up a hand and caught the beer that her brother tossed at her. She wasn’t even paying attention to what was going on around her. She heard him open his beer, and she effortlessly opened her own. ”You do know it is extremely difficult for people like us to become intoxicated from alcohol, right?” She asked him as she took a long pull from the beer. Her first taste of it, and she stretched her mouth to make it go down easier. She thought that perhaps she should just take it nice and slow until she knew what she was doing.

Jason almost laughed when he saw her drink her beer. It must of been her first because she looked like it she almost spilled it. "Yeah I know but it's stronger than soda and it seems to calm me and logan down better than some kiddie drink" Jason replied taking another sip of his before taking his seat back at the table.
He felt like he should ask her more, ask her what her childhood was like how she was adapting to the mansion but he wasn't exactly sure how to it just felt weird to him to say the least. "Do you have a nickname for the X-men?" Jason asked non chalant code names were given to protect secret identities for the X-men members. Then of course it was to give that military force fighting feel to it. Amongst the X-men he was known as Claw Mark his father none other than the legendary Wolverine.

Faith took another sip of her beverage, this time not so much, and slowly swallowed it. That was much better. It wasn’t quite overwhelming. She nodded her head as she finally knew what he meant by it being stronger than soda. Funny thing was that she started to feel a bit calmer, and leaned forward in her seat. She could defiantly feel herself getting used to this beverage, and wondered if Logan cared enough for her to make sure she doesn’t become dependant on beer to calm her down from being feral. She hasn’t been here long enough to actually spend any time with her father.
”Do you have a nickname for the X-men?”
Jason’s question brought her back out of her pondering thoughts. She had just come to the conclusion that he may not even want her there, when the term of the resident hero team penetrated her thoughts. ”If you mean do I have a nickname they call me, well they seemed to stick to my codename from the lab. Lycan. It seems that the government got one thing right about me…” She answered him and took another sip of her beer. She could defiantly get used to this drink… ”So are there any other siblings besides the two of us?” She asked, not sure how she felt about being part of a ‘family’. She never had one before, and she thought that perhaps she was just too dangerous to be a part of one…
