Kim seemed to cower behind Luke as the guys approached them. She could tell that they wanted to finish they had started inside. They seemed determined to have their fun with her, and that is what really scared her. She knew that since Luke was with her, he wouldn’t let anything happen to her. But she also knew that his ‘friend’ would protect her too. He seemed ready to break her ex just for punching her…
”I see them. Go to the bike and sit on it, start the engine if you want but don’t leave her, if the worst comes to the worst leave without me, you really wanna try this?”
She took his keys and jacket that he handed her, and swallowed hard. She was worried for him, and knew that if he got upset there was a great chance that his grandfather would show up. If he did then he would end up taking Luke, and she couldn’t allow that. Shivering from the cold, she put on his jacket and placed her hand on his shoulder. ”Luke, please be careful.” She told him with worry clearly evident in her voice, before dashing to the bike and sitting on it. She knew full well that these guys were no match for him, much less his ‘friend’.

Luke watched at they got closer and he knew that this would not end well or if it did he would have to do it as himself and not allow Hulk to take over, if Hulk took over it would lead to the police or the government being involved, neither of which he wanted simply because of the fact that it could lead to him having to go on the run again and he would not leave Kim again, which undoubtedly would have to happen if he allowed Hulk to take over in a public place.
As the first one moved towards him swinging his hand at him wildly, Luke was able to duck under the swinging arm and get a well aimed punch to the man’s gut before sweeping his legs with one of his own to cause the man to land on the back of his head loudly possibly knocking himself out. As the second moved towards him he tripped him up causing him to fall on top of the first creep. Luke looked at the other two who seemed to second guess the idea but attempted to rush him either way, Luke moved out of the way and allowed them to crash into each other, in theory Luke had only really hit one of them but had taken out 4 guys. Walking back over to Kim he grinned and took his jacket back from her.
“Guess I have some things to explain huh?” he said with a grin.

Kim sat frightened on the bike, clenching the keys he gave her in her hand and huddled in his jacket that smelled of him. Strangely enough, even though he was still near her it still felt like he was with her at the same time. Of course his jacket was still warm from his body heat and thus warmed her up a little bit. She really wished she knew that he had his bike so that she would have grabbed herself a jacket along the way somewhere. She was going to have to talk Luke into stopping at a clothing store and allowing her to get one to keep her warm.
”Guess I have some things to explain huh?”
She watched with a strange sense of satisfaction as he took care of the guys who had tried to beat him up, and do only god knows what with her. She then took off his jacket and handed it back to him when he walked over to her. She nodded her head in answer to his question. ”Took lessons in your absence?” She asked him half jokingly and scooted back on the bike so that he could get on in front of her and drive it. ”Can we stop at a clothing store so I can get myself a jacket? It is cold out tonight, and going down the highway on a bike isn’t exactly warm…” She asked him with a small grin.

Luke shrugged when she said that he had taken lessons in her absence in all fairness it was more that he had to learn to survive in situations that he could not afford to bring hulk out in like the situation moments earlier, it was his own abilities that helped him out just as much as the monster that he had to pretty much use as a tag partner when he needed him. Not that he liked to use him that much only when it was absolutely necessary, the fight that he had just had was one of those situations and he was glad that he had that training otherwise he would not have been able to protect Kim, that was something that scared him. “Take mine,” he said slipping onto the bike when she commented about not having a jacket and that the cold could affect her, not that he wouldn’t feel the cold but he would much rather be cold then allow her to be cold, then he turned the engine on and kicked the kickstand up and drove off. “Hold on,” he said “this is gonna be a long trip.”

When he slipped onto the bike in front of her, Kim wrapped her arms around him and held on tightly. She buried her face into his back and inhaled deeply, smelling him and smiled. She still couldn’t believe that he was back, and he was real. The last five years were a constant nightmare without him there with her, and she was now having a hard time believing this to be true. Her arms automatically tightened around him as her thoughts developed into doubt that this could possibly be nothing but a dream.
”Take mine, Hold on, this is gonna be a long trip.”
She looked up at him and raised an eyebrow at him. ”But then you would get cold. It would just be easier to stop and I buy myself a jacket…” She told him, not wanting him to freeze either. Then as he drove off, she had no idea on if he heard her or not. She then lifted her head to get close to his ear to mention something that he might have perhaps didn’t think of. ”Do you plan on driving all the way to Texas nonstop?” She said to be heard over the engine, she doubt that she would be able to hold on the entire time without some kind of break in the ride.

Luke laughed when Kim said about him getting cold, right now he didn't care, he had her against him tightly that her body heat was enough for him, also the fact that it wasn’t as cold as he thought it would have been for New York in the winter, not that it was something that was warm but at the same time Luke had travelled around the whole country, he had been up as far as Alaska and Canada so he was use to the cold and more to the point he didn't want Kim to get cold so therefore he would do anything to ensure that she was safe, even from the cold.
“We could do” he said when she asked if they where going to drive to Texas none stop, Luke didn't have a problem with that but he knew that it was a long distance to travel in one night. “it is up to you, I am fine with anything babe.”

Kim knew it was a long distance between New York City and Texas. She even knew that Texas was a big state, so she had no idea where his aunt lived in the Lone Star State. So she couldn’t really judge how much longer she could last without rest. The last time she really slept was since before Luke left five years ago, and then her body tighten it’s hold on him as she thought of him leaving her. She did not want to be left behind again, not that he had returned.
”We could do it is up to you, I am fine with anything babe.”
She nodded her head and thought over her options. She was tired, and needed a good night’s rest. She doubt she’ll get that on the back of a bike going at least 70 down the interstate. ”Perhaps a nice, comfy, safe bed would be good. Haven’t had a good night’s sleep since…” She said as she trailed off, not wanting to think of that day he rode off…

Luke nearly swerved when Kim was talking about a nice warm bed, not that there was anything to read from, that but at the same time he couldn’t help but think about being in bed with her, after all they had been pretty close for a while before he had left but at the same time she had grown into a beautiful young woman and therefore it was hard not to think of her in that way, not that it was a bad thing for him to think so but at the same time he didn’t want to lose her again and he would put his own needs away for the fact that he didn’t want to lose her.
“I don’t sleep well either,” he said turning around a tight bend hoping that she would hang on tighter even though he could practically feel her breath on him. “last time I slept well was when we slept side by side, the last time you stayed with me after an argument with your dad”

Kim was enjoying this ride behind Luke on his bike. She was surrounded by his smell, and she couldn’t be happier. However, she noticed his almost swerved, and she grinned into his back as she realized what had caused him to do it. It wasn’t like they hadn’t shared a bed before, he normally held her during the night when she ran from her home after a beating from her dad. He of course didn’t try anything, but just held her protectively as she slept with him. She felt safe through the night with him near her.
”I don’t sleep well either, last time I slept well was when we slept side by side, the last time you stayed with me after an argument with your dad”
She couldn’t believe he still remembered that. However what she could believe more, was that it was the last time he actually slept. Well she had a huge surprise for him, and when he made that sharp turn in the rode she reacted by tightening her grip on him. She couldn’t believe that she could hold on more tighter than what she already was, but apparently she could. ”That was the last time I actually slept as well. I mean knowing that you were there, kept the fear of my dad coming in and…having another argument with him that could have ended badly for me.” She told him and laid her head on his shoulder, just letting herself enjoy this ride.

Luke smirked when she said that she slept well for the last time at the last time they had slept together, it had been something about her that had made him be able to sleep easily, he couldn’t put his finger on it but there was just something about her calming nature for the hulk. He couldn’t understand it or explain it, however just something about her had continued to ensure that the Hulk was at ease and therefore was no one that could come to harm because of him.
“Let me know when you wanna stop,” he said “I am fine when ever you want to stop.”

Kim just allowed herself to lay her head on his shoulder, feeling the safest in a long time. She could defiantly get used this again, and to tell the truth she doesn’t want to let him go any time soon. She lifted her head and rested her chin lightly on his shoulder, so that she can see where he was going as well. She could tell it was getting late, but she couldn’t bring herself to end this ride so quickly.
”Let me know when you wanna stop, I am fine when ever you want to stop.”
She lifted her head and turned it just enough to see his profile, and smiled at him. She didn’t know if he could see it or not, but she did it any way. She then kissed his cheek, and then placed her mouth next to his ear so that he can hear her clearly. ”If you feel my grip on you relax, then we should stop.” She said and returned to laying her head on his shoulder.
(OOC: I think the thread is pretty much done from here. Kim can’t think of anything much to add at this point.)

Luke smirked and nodded, he knew that she probably wouldn’t see the smirk but she would know that he nodded his head, most of the time he had put himself first, only when he ran he normally didn’t have anything else to fight for, Kim was different he wanted to make her safe and the only way that he could do that was fighting for her, it was something he didn’t normally do. He was taking into account the life of someone else, he was making someone else important to him. Something that other than his father he hadn’t done in a long long time.
“Ok,” he said “just let me know when.”
(Same, I think we could move it to another one if you wanted?)
