Luke sighed when Kim went to get her clothes, now that he had found her again he didn't want to let her go, that had been why he had been so intent on keeping her safe, after all he had cared for her even before he had transformed into the hulk and took up permanent residence in her life as the hulk and protector, he had heard the way that her father had treated her over the years and he had tried multiple times to protect her, however then her father just stopped letting him into the house, so he started sneaking in, there was no way that he was leaving her alone when she could have been hurt by her father, that was why he had left her, he figured that without him being around she would want to get out herself and manage to do so, evidently he had been wrong.
When she returned he smirked at her, they seemed to always be together when the other needed one of them, when he needed the hulk controlling so that he hadn’t alerted his grandfather to his whereabouts she had been able to keep him calm. However when she had needed protecting he had turned up at the right time. It seemed like they where made for each other.
“Anything you wanna say or do to the scumbag before we leave?” he asked her.

Kim was standing there just glaring at him huffing in pain on the floor in front of them. She knew that he though of her as his possession, but what she didn’t know was that Luke had thought of her as his as well. If she did know that, she wouldn’t minded it as much as she did with the scumbag sprawled out on the floor in front of them. She looked as Luke smirked at her, and she knew that if his grandfather ever got a hold him then she wouldn’t know what to do. Other than the fact that she would do anything in her power to get him back. Now that he came back into her life, she wasn’t going to let him leave easily. Not if she could help it.
”Anything you wanna say or do to the scumbag before we leave?”
She smirked wider and nodded her head as she melted into Luke’s side. ”Yeah. Both of them. But first, I’ll do this.” She answered him and then kissed him, knowing that it was going to make her ex extremely jealous and angry. She seemed to be a bit bold and forward since the dinner, and it wasn’t normal of her. But she sort of liked it. She then pulled away and put her hand into Luke’s before turning to face her ex. ”I hope you rot in hell.” She told him and then spat at him for good measure.

Luke had been expecting pretty much anything when she had said that there was something that she wanted to do, however he had not been expecting her to kiss him, for the longest time he had been considering kissing her, simply because he had seen her through the teenage years of her life pretty much and therefore it was something that he had thought about because of the fact that he had known her so well and therefore it was something that he had been not that surprised about as he kissed her back willingly.
However as they broke the kiss and then she turned to her ex he couldn’t help but feel a little hurt by this, as he thought that she had only done it to mess with her ex, however then she turned and put her hand in his which caused him to grin and glare down at him as she spat on him before running his hand along her face. “Let’s go gorgeous,” he said with a smirk.

Kim squeezed Luke’s hand when her ex attempted to lash out at her from his position on the floor. She noticed that his leg was bent at a very odd angle and started to pity him, and then she suddenly remembered what he had done to her. She steeled herself as he flopped around and tried to crawl his way toward her. Her immediate reaction was to back away, and shield herself behind Luke. She did not want her ex to touch her ever again, and knew that if it looked like he would hurt her, then Luke would step in and stop him. She did a very childish thing as she stuck out her tongue at her ex when he shouted that she was going to pay for this and then threaten to kill her. Her first thought was how was Luke going to react to that.
”Let’s go gorgeous”
She turned her face into his hand as he ran it along her features, and she smiled into his palm. She placed a kiss into it before she could stop herself, and inhaled his scent that smelled strangely of musk and hard work. ”I’m ready.” She told him happily that she had him back. She then began to led him back out the door to let her ex curse and wither in pain in their wake. ”So do you have any idea on how to get to your aunt’s?” She asked him as soon as they got outside of the building, and she shivered from the cold night air. She should have remembered a jacket…

Luke’s jaw hardened when the ex tried to stand and couldn’t help the grin on his face when he realised that he couldn’t stand, the fact that he could have practically crippled a guy with a single hit, he had actually been aiming to knock through the wall however it appeared that everyone didn't get what they wanted, however as he seemed to be moving towards them, Luke let go of her hand and walked towards her, even though he knew that Hulk didn't scare Kim, he was about to hurt someone as Luke and that was something completely different. Stomping down on his leg he trapped the ex’s leg to the floor before stomping down with his other foot onto his crotch keeping him pinned to the floor as he screamed in pain. “Try and hurt her now, jackass,” he said with a grin.
Moving back to her, he grinned as she kissed his hand, this was something that he had not expected as he had thought that she would be mad at him for doing something that weird he had been able to hurt him but at the same time he had done it with his normal body which he had not actually hurt anyone in the form of, not really that he cared because of who it is. “We can go on my bike,” he said with a grin “that ok with you?”

Kim watched as Luke kept her ex from attempting to put his hands on her. She stayed perfectly still as she watched as he stomped on her ex’s now broken leg, trapping him from going anywhere, and then used his other foot to take his anger out on the family jewels. The painful screams ripping from his lungs, seemed to fill her with justice. She couldn’t count the number of times that he had caused her the same screams, and she wondered what she would have asked Luke to do if she had stayed in the room any longer. However, she kissed his hand not because she felt like she needed to but to let him know that she had always known that he would do anything to keep her from harm.
”We can go on my bike, that ok with you?”
She smiled at him and nodded her head in answer to his question. ”Luke, I’m glad you came back. And I’m not afraid of the protective Luke, either.” She told him and stuck close to his side. She knew that her neighborhood was a bad one after dark, and she didn’t want to be caught out alone. ”And your bike is fine with me. I’ll follow you.” She answered his question, and stuck her hand back into his so that she wouldn’t get separated or lost from him.

Luke sighed in relief when Kim said that she wasn’t afraid, that had been something that worried him, he never wanted her to be afraid of him and the fact that he so easily could have done so was something that worried him, not that it was something that he was taking it lightly but if she had told him to he would have done anything to that guy and it wouldn’t have been a big deal to him simply because of the fact that it had been Kim that had asked him to do it and there wasn’t anything that he wouldn’t do for her, he would have moved mountains for her if it was possible, with his hulk form it could have been possible.
When he moved back to Kim and told her that they could leave on his bike he could tell that it would be an extremely good idea, he had left on that same bike 5 years ago and now he was taking her back into life on the same back, as they walked through the neighbourhood he could tell that she was slightly nervous about something which was why she had moved closer to him not that he was worried about that at all. “so what did you kiss me for?” he asked “was it to annoy him?”

Kim was finally glad that she had Luke with her, and she had moved closer to him partially because of the fear that had taken hold of her from her neighborhood. And partially because she just wanted to be near him. She had been without him for five years, and it seemed that she was suffering in his absence. She of course had daydreamed him coming back to at least check in on her, but those never stayed long with her. Now he was of course taking her with him, and she couldn’t be happier.
”so what did you kiss me for? was it to annoy him?”
She looked up to his face as he asked her why she kissed him. She bit her bottom lip as she thought on that. She somehow knew that if she did tell him that she kissed him only to annoy her ex, she most likely would end up hurting him. Thankfully, that wasn’t the entire truth, and smiled up at him instead. ”I kissed you because I wanted to. And you know what? I liked it, and the fact that you kissed back. And also, as an after thought, I knew he would get mad…but I did not intend that as the reason.” She told him, and jumped slightly when an old vehicle backfired making a sound that could be mistaken for gunfire.

Luke grinned when she told him that she actually liked him, he had wanted to believe that but could have dealt with that it had just been to get back at her boyfriend, he just wanted to know rather than getting his hopes up, after all he had been close to her for the longest time and didn't want to lose her in anyway, if it had turned out that she was just using him to get back at her ex then they would just be friends with a very obvious sexual tension because of that passionate kiss, however she seemed to want more than just that one kiss which was something that Luke had been happy about.
After all she had been the one girl that he had been closest to the most, she was his best friend and more than his best friend, the one person that he was safe with in both Hulk and Luke form, something that he hadn’t been expecting not that he hadn’t been happy about this but at the same time he wondered why Hulk did calm around her. He had been going to speak when the exhaust let out a sound like a gunshot and Luke turned putting Kim behind him. “that sounded like gunshots, thank god it wasn’t,” he said “you do have to pick the shadiest part of town don’t you gorgeous?”

Kim did not intend to hurt Luke if she did with her explanation of that kiss. They had always been good friends, and had hoped that she didn’t ruin it with kissing him like there was no tomorrow. Ever since he had been there for her, making sure she was alright throughout her childhood, she had somehow developed a little crush on him. That crush had only grew when he chased off that jerk of a boyfriend she had when she was thirteen. She had always known that he was special, but having a ‘friend’ like Hulk inside takes the cake. She walked with him down the sidewalk and wondered where their relationship was going to go now.
”that sounded like gunshots, thank god it wasn’t, you do have to pick the shadiest part of town don’t you gorgeous?”
She felt even more safer, as if she didn’t know that was even possible for her, when Luke turned and placed her behind him. She placed her free hand on her chest to keep her heart from trying to escape from her chest…or exploding. She nodded her head in answer to his question, and smiled at him. ”The rent was cheap.” She answered him and took a nervous look around her. ”How much further until we get to your bike?” She asked him with her failing nerves being heard in her voice. She just wanted to get on the back of his bike, hold onto him, and get out of there.

Luke grinned at Kim when they realised that they where in no danger, not that he would ever allow her to be in danger in the first place, after all the couple had been together on and off as protector and protectee for the longest time, not that it had been something that he had suspected to happen, even when he had left her, he had kept in touch after all his father was still her next door neighbour, it had only been him and his aunt Jen that had moved, it was more to do with the fact that his father was no longer a threat for the government that he didn't move.
Luke nodded back towards the diner where he had left his bike, to be fair they probably would have been faster if they had drove up to her place on the bike but neither of them had thought of it at the time which was an oversight by both of them but at the same time it had just been a very easy mistake to make and he doubted that either of them would make the same mistake ever again “you wanna be in front of me or behind me?” he asked her.

Kim soon realized that the bang was in fact completely harmless and was nothing but a backfire from a vehicle. She saw his grin, and returned one of her own before melting back into his side. She gave a soft, light laugh at their reaction to that bang. Both of them had a right to be on edge. Luke because of his grandfather, and her because of her abused past. Every sudden, loud noise caused her jump nearly out of her skin. Even with Luke next to her, that reaction couldn’t be helped. However, just like he would protect her from harm, she would protect him from his grandfather. She really didn’t like that man…
”you wanna be in front of me or behind me?”
She looked up at him and smiled her smile that she only used with him. She nodded her head in understanding when he motioned to where his bike was left, and she knew that they should have ridden it to her place. She didn’t even have to think twice about her answer to his question, and snaked her arms around his middle. ”Behind you of course.” She told him and rested her head on him for a few moments before pulling slightly away and took his hand. The then began to lead him back toward the dinner.

Luke had been pleasantly surprised when she had hugged his waist before she had given him her answer, he didn't know what the hug was for but he would gladly take it, any chance that he got to get the amazing smelling blonde near him was good to him, no matter what it was for, he could tell that she was still a little nervous because of the exhaust and could tell that her heart had been hammering in her chest almost, his super enhanced hearing had told him that, something that he was happy about because of the hulk was that his senses seemed to be enhanced when they needed to be, not that he had realised before now. Not that he was hoping for there to be a lot of trouble for Kim to spend a lot of time jumping into his arms but he had to admit that it was a good feeling.
“Ok,” he said leading her towards the bike, he was hoping that the guys that had been pawing at her where gone by now a Hulk was still itching for a fight and would gladly kill all four of them if they even tried to touch her again, hell Luke would kill them if they tried to put their hands on her again. “let’s go then,” he said pulling her towards the bike,

Kim allowed him to pull her toward his bike, and remembered looking out her bedroom window five years ago. She remembered watching him race down the street on the back of his bike, never to be heard from again. She hoped and dreamed he would come back for her, to retrieve her, but he never did. She even tried to leave too, but she just couldn’t leave. Her father imitated her into staying, and threatened her with beating her to death if she ever left. So she stayed, fearful of her father killing her. Not once had she felt that fear, but then Luke had left and he wasn’t there to protect her anymore.
”let’s go then,”
As they approached the bike, she caught the door of the dinner open and she froze as the four guys that were pawing at her exited the establishment. She saw as their eyes locked on her, and she immediately clenched Luke’s hand inside her own. She then attempted to move to place him in front of her as it seemed the guys sauntered towards her. ”Luke…” She called him in a fearful whisper and pointed toward their approaching company.

Luke could tell that Kim was nervous she had all rights to be, she was someone that didn't have the hulk to protect her for 5 years and if she had to put up with what she had done in her younger years then it would have been 5 years of hell for her. He hadn’t intended to be so long but there was just something about staying away that had appealed to him which had made it so, not that he didn't care for her but if he was away from her he wasn’t hurt himself.
“I see them.” Luke said as they began moving towards himself and Kim taking the keys to the bike he handed them to her before taking his jacket off and handing that to her also. “Go to the bike and sit on it, start the engine if you want but don’t leave her, if the worst comes to the worst leave without me,” then he turned to the group and smirked “you really wanna try this?”
